with the resort! Oh my. We own at Boardwalk and love it there but there is nothing, NOTHING like Grand Floridian. I could stay there forever. The rooms (we had a one bedroom)! The claw footed tub! The food choices! The amazing lobby of the main Grand Floridian! The best resort I have ever stayed at on property, easily. The last trip we took, we stayed at Bay Lake and I didn't like it at all. When we returned home I was contemplating selling our DVC points. Well, with this resort we drove home looking to add on. It is that amazing. If I had one complaint about it it's that it is very noisy at night with the BOOM-BOOM-BOOM of the fireworks and the boat horns blaring. But it didn't bother me or the kids, who were conked out on the pull-out in the living room. OK, the fireworks might have gotten on my nerves a tad, but it was a minor thing compared to the laundry list of complaints I had about Bay Lake.

There are certain resorts you stay at at and immediately you know they feel like home. This was love at first sight, same as Boardwalk. We did go poke around at the Poly and the bungalows look absolutely amazing but the overall resort was definitely not my bag. I really think the Grand Floridian is as close to perfect as it gets on property.

GF is defiantly Disney WDW flagship resort and I must say that VGF is DVC's.

Yes, it really is. One morning when we were eating breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe, my DH started laughing and I asked him why. He had overheard a woman who walked in the lobby of the GF and said in a loud voice, "OH MY GOD, this place makes Caribbean Beach look like a DUMP!"

Yes. Yes, it does.

I could agree more! So glad you liked it! When I bought direct at VGF, so many at Disboards told me I was crazy, blah blah blah, the price this, you'll be sorry that... I couldn't be more pleased! It was a calculated purchase. I bought at $150/point...knowing that it was the Disney Flagship hotel experience....very small DVC resort...equals smart financial decision.... Already people are clamoring because they can't buy VGF anymore...only way right now is resale...not even accepting people on the waitlist. I personally have friends that have asked me if they can pay $155-160/point for my contract. I'm not selling. Watch ... it'll become the most valuable points in DVC. We're staying at Polynesian Lake View in September to check them out but can't wait to get back to VGF in April!

I am jealous of anyone who owns here. I want to add on but someone needs to give me the money first. Even 100 points resale is a bit too much for us ATM with school tuition and me needing a new car. But if we could, we would.

There is nothing quite like the Grand. I would love to be a DVC owner there. I always feel as if I am really, truly on vacation when I pull into that resort and check in. Glad you loved it.

I am very glad for you and all the owners. As you fell in love with BWV you now have another love. The reason there are different themes there are different strokes for different folks. My DW likes VGF, but does not love it, she is a BC lover. I prefer WL or SSR. Thats why I like the variety. And we like to try them all.

Us too. It's actually been awhile since I stayed at BWV. I enjoy trying them all out. I still have to try out the Poly, and OKW. I have stayed at AKL and VWL but before we were DVC owners.

VGF just took everything up a level.

My only DVC regret is that we only bought 40 VGF points.

Anywhere at WDW is wonderful but there is truly nothing like the VGF. We honeymooned at the GF 15 years ago and when it became a DVC resort, DH and I knew that we had to purchase a contract there. Don't get me wrong--we knew it was costly and heard about the insanity of spending $$$ on buying Disney direct but you really can't put a price on the sentimental value and joy that it has brought us. And while we could have waited for re-sale to appear on the market, we made the choice not to wait because life is too short...and I need my GF fix sooner than later. My only regret is that we bought a contract that would allow for a stay every OTHER year. But, that makes the trip all the more special. Every DVC resort is amazing in its own way...but my heart will always be at the VGF. Wonderful OP. :lovestruc Counting down for the next trip...

Ha, I just did the resort survey Disney sent me and I scored GF a 10 on just about everything. The survey kept asking me why and all I can come up with is, uh, because it's nearly perfect?

I did knock off some points off the Grand Floridian cafe for messing up our breakfast order a couple times, but the food was good, so I can't get too upset. I still cannot believe how much I loved this resort.

Have to agree.

The Grand Floridian is lovely.

We just got back from a weekend getaway. Then our anniversary is October and we'll be going back again.

Then again in December.

I really don't want to ever leave when we are there: and I'm so happy that we are proud VGF owners!!
