Got back late last night from our first trip to Disneyland! I will be doing a trip report as I had so much fun reading all of yours before I left and found them so helpful. Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who contributes on this site, our holiday would of not been so perfect without all the amazing knowledge and tips I discovered on here!

Quick summary, we went for 6 nights staying at Davy Crockett, half board standard vouchers, the hubby and I and 3 children aged 10, 6 and 3.

HIGHS

Disneyland...far exceeded my expectation! Was such an amazing magical place...bit of a teary moment on the last full day in the park riding the careousel, listening to when you wish upon a star and wishing we never had to leave!

Magical moments....my 3 yr old daughters face when she met Belle after queueing like an angel for over an hour, my son totally awestruck by Buzz, Woody and Jesse, the parade- just amazing!, fireworks over the castle on our first night!

The food...Will add more detail in the trip report but we ate in a different restaurant every day and loved them all, definetly exceeded expectations!

Davy Crockett Ranch....loved it here! Cabin was so cute, very spacious, so perfect for us and was really like we were out in the middle of a forest! Lovely breakfast and very helpful staff.

LOWS

Character Meets... I have to say I agree with whaT I read on here, it is a scrum and some people have no respect what so ever! We took part in ones organised with lines and did 2 chracter meals which were fab but the other were crazy with people pushing you out the way, pushing books into the chracters faces and being completely rude and it wasn't just the kids! It made my blood boil having parents pushing their kids into my patiently waiting 3 year old so we didn't bother in the end!

Weather...I know this is under no ones control but it was rubbish, was cloudy, showery, windy and even cold every day but the last one BUT..I could put this in the highs too as on the last day the heat made it impossible to do anything as the kids were ratty and it was too hot so actually I am grateful it wasn't too hot as we wouldn't of done anywhere near as much as we did!

Weekend.. We were there all week and crowd levels were okay, did the majority of the rides and never queued more than 10 minutes but on our last day, a saturday, it was absolutely ridiculous!! I seriously couldnt believe that many peoiple could fit in a park, queues were sooooo long we didnt get on any rides and took over an hour to just get into the park! We wil never go on a weekend again!

Okay that was a long summary! Overall we had an amzing time and can't wait to go back although hoping not to drive next time and stay a bit closer! I kept notes religiously and took 650 photos so wil get trippie done this week I promise!

Kelly xx

Sounds like a lovely first trip - and another family converted to DLP :rotfl:. Really looking forward to reading your trip report.

Know what you mean about the weather it was a bit up and down when we were there early August.
That said we stayed at the parks longer than we can manage at WDW as it's a lot cooler and wife & son prefer it like that anyway.

Sounds like a magical trip :wizard:
Looking forward to your TR popcorn::
Welcome home
