Just back from DLP

Just got back last night. We had a really good time, except for the food! We liked the rainforest cafe a lot, but the burger joints inside the park were awful - the food at Hyperion was barely edible and at the BBQ cookout (just another burger joint actually) we had to send the food back because it was cold, and then we saw a mouse running around on the floor (and not Mickey or Minnie!), but the worst has to be Planet Hollywood, the food was absolutely revolting and stone cold (I didn't eat mine) and you pay through the nose for it too! We went to one restaurant (Lucky Nugget Saloon) and they put us sitting at the bar - we told them that DD couldn't sit there because she was disabled, the stools were too high and she would fall off, but they wouldn't let us sit at a table (because tables are for parties of 4, not 3!). Eventually they said we could sit at a table, but we felt really uncomfortable and embarrassed by then, so we decided to leave instead.

We had a good breakfast yesterday in Cafe Mickey with all the characters, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Pinocchio, Chip & Dale, Tigger etc which was good fun and meant we got some good pictures of DD meeting the characters without the queueing or scrum!

But other than mealtimes, the rest was great!

Glad you enjoyed Cafe Mickey though,we plan to go there in July

also we loved the Rainforest Cafe when we went in October

Sshame about some of the food - we avoided the burger places as the mayo they use is pretty disgusting - Pizzeria Belle Notte was our continual fall back .
We loved Planet Hollywood though - I guess it depends when you go...

I like most of the food at DLP however I agree Planet Hollywood is disgusting, we would never go to any Planet Hollywood again as I have heard that they are all pretty much digusting.

Shame that you had a great time apart from some of the meals.

Cowboy Cookout is on our to do list every trip as we think the burgers are the best of any counter service. While everyone in our party loves both Planet Hollywood and Rain Forest Cafe it is the latter that I was less impressed with value for money

I do hope you went to City Hall regarding your treatment at Lucky Nugget Saloon

The burgers at Cowboy Cookout were fine, once we had swapped them for hot ones!
As for Lucky Nugget, we probably should have complained, but they did agree to let us sit at a table eventually I guess! We just felt it lost a bit of 'magic' at that point.

What is your daughters disability if you dont mind me asking ?

She has an undiagnosed brain disorder which basically has the effect of making her development slow. She didn't walk at all until she was 4 (about 6 months ago) and is still very unstable and she talks like a baby. She has minor problems like being over-sensitive to noise/new situations etc and poor motor skills.

Good news is that she is catching up now and the condition has absolutely no effect on her general health or life expectancy!

Glad you had a nice time apart from the food. I go on sunday morning ans was wondering if you could tell me what the weather was like?? They have forcast rain all week but was wondering if it is cold also??? Thanks

It wasn't cold at all - in fact with waterproofs on etc it was quite hot, and we had to have the air conditioning on at night in our room.
