I just got back from Disney last night. My husband and I stayed at the Boardwalk and had
a great time. We were there from 11/16 through 11/20. Weather was great and the crowds
were very manageable at all the parks. Since becoming members in 1992 and visiting Disney
every year and usually around this time in November, we have never seen Disney so quiet.
We made PS's at the restaurants (Le Cellier for dinner, Norway for dinner, Boma for dinner,
Flying Fish for dinner) but in reality we didn't really need to since most of the restaurants
had empty tables (at least while we were dining) and not alot of people waiting in line.
We walked into Mama Melrose's in MGM for lunch on Saturday when we visited that park and
the place was virtually empty. The waitress there told us that is things didn't pick up that
they would be cutting back on the hours that Mama's would be open. Very sad! We also
noticed that at the bus stops there never seemed to be those long lines. After our dinner at
Boma's on Monday nite, we took the bus there to the Marketplace (it was around 8:30PM)
and we were the only people on the bus. We also caught the show at the Comedy Warehouse both on Sunday and Monday night (9:00 PM) show and we got there at ten
minutes to nine and there was hardly a line. Got in with no problem and the place never did
fill up. And Pleasure Island itself was almost like a ghost town. Maybe it picked up after we
left around 11PM, who knows? We also caught the Diamond Horseshow Jamboree at
Magic Kingdom on Sunday and the place was almost empty. The show now consisted of a
banjo player and a card magician and that was it. It still was enjoyable, but sad to see just
a handful of people inside. Also we were shocked when we went to the Yachtclub to have
breakfast on our last morning that The Galley restaurant is now closed and they are
serving breakfast at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. The steakhouse was probably only half
full for breakfast. We did notice though that the restaurants with the character breakfast's
we still hopping. Most of the CM's we talked to were hopeful that it would pick up this week
and stay busy through the holidays. I hope that it happens.
