Had an awesome week. Weather was perfect. Low-mid 80's and low humidity.
This was our first stay at Cypress Pointe and we LOVED it.
We stayed in the Grand Villas side. Stayed in F23 A and B. Had the 3 bedroom. Very clean and nice. Just about the only complaint was in the one bedroom portion they had the thermostat default set at 70 so you could not make it cooler.
In the 2 bedroom side you could make it as cold as you wanted. Never did figure that one out.
The grounds were very nice. Lush landscaping around the pools. We never swam in the Grandvilla pools though. Walked to the Volcano pool on the other side whenever we went swimming. the kids just loved it.

Thanks to everyone who posted comments on this place. We will definately stay there again.

Thanks for this.....we're getting ready to book our ressies for January. I posted specific questions in another post below. Were your rooms overlooking pools? Also, are the room layouts in Cypress Resort different than in the Grand Villas?

Glad you had fun and enjoyed the resort!

I hope I get this right...I'm such a "computer dufus", I don't know if this link will work, LOL!! If it does, it should show floorplans in both sections and a somewhat hard to read map of the area.

pparring,

thanks for posting! We are hoping to stay at CP in a renovated unit in April! Crossing our fingers...

pparring,

thanks for posting! We are hoping to stay at CP in a renovated unit in April! Crossing our fingers...

Thanks! That helps alot. Looks like the Grand Villas 1 bedroom lockout has a small kitchenette and sitting area that the older section doesn't have. Layouts look very similar though.

Decisions, decisions.....

Another difference between the two is the layout of the master bathroom. At CPGV the toilet/shower is in a seperate room of the master, with the sink/spa tub in the bedroom itself. At CP, the toilet area is actually not in a seperate room.

If you search here on the board, you can probably find a better description. We have not stayed at CP, only CPGV so I have not seen the layout myself.

Can anyone help here??

We were in the F building in the Grand Villas Section. It was yellow and called Bird Cay I believe. It was at the opposite side of the complex from the Turtle pool and right along the third pool at the property. We stayed on the second floor. It looks like there are 8 units to a floor. 4 two bedrooms and 4 one bedrooms. For us the kitchenette in the one bedroom in addition to the kitchen in the three bedroom worked great. My inlasw stayed in the one bedroom side and they got up at their leisure and could make their own coffee, etc. since they had all their own appliances as well as their own fridge. We kept the adjoining door open all the time so they could come and go in our unit as they pleased.
In the 2 bedroom side it was nice to have the shower and toilet and sink in a room with a door. So one of us could be in there getting ready and not be disturbed while the other was getting ready by the second sink and look after the kids.

We did not face the pool, we faced the parking lot. It was fine though as there were some late swimmers some nights and although I did not hear them you might have if your room was overlooking the pool.

kpossible - go to www.hotelkingdom.com and punch in you're dates.

This site is very reputable, I was very pleased with them when I booked another property in Orlando.

Lorix2, Thank you. How was sheraton vistana villages? The pictures on the web make them look very nice.

kpossible - LOVED the Vistana Villages, immaculate and luxurious decor, great location and resort size.
