Just back from CSR

Hi everybody,

The debate has raged about CSR - is it a deluxe lite or a moderate. IMO everything about CSR is deluxe except the rooms. The rooms are like a Holiday Inn or the Royal Pacific - pleasant but not spectacular. The service is AWESOME. I've been to 5 star hotels and the service was nothing compared to CSR's cast members. Every single one was polite and extremely helpful. I can't say enough about the grounds -magnificent- is one word that comes to mind. My DD and her friend loved the dig site pool. We've only stayed at home away from home for the past 20 + years but now I have the bug to try a different resort each trip. Next time we might try the POFQ or maybe the Poly or the GF. For those of you booked @ CSR- I recommend it highly. Would we stay there again?- absolutely.
The Pepper Market was great. The food is delicious. I don't understand why people complain.
Yes, the resort is large. That said, we only took the shuttle once. The walk around Lake Dorado is beautiful. We enjoyed our walks very much. We were in Casitas 4. We had a code and had a parking lot view. However, the parking lot was hidden by the lush landscaping-perfect!!!

Those were my exact words after my first visit in 1998. Just couldn't understand what others were talking about. Glad you had an awesome trip!!

Welcome back-we feel the same way about CSR-LOVE IT!! I personally like the rooms and find them on par with the other moderates. We love Pepper Market and find the theming of CSR to be the best!

Totally agree with OP - CSR is such a great place. I can't think of a negative thing to say about it. We just returned Saturday from POR and while it was a nice place, my DS12 said, "We need to stay at CSR next time, I just love that place... "

I just came back from CSR yesterday. We stayed in Casitas 5. We had a fourth floor view of the lake & it was BEAUTIFUL! We could see the Dolphin & Swan & the Illuminations fireworks from our room. We never ate at Pepper Market, but LOVED Maya Grill for breakfast. They have the best breakfast burritos & biscuits w/gravy. Yum!! I would definetly recommend.

Yes you can go to the Pepper Market just to refill mugs.
I'd like to know about the icee drinks as well. If available, can you get them at the other locations throughout CSR?
