Just back from CSR.....

And we really liked it!! I was pleasantly surprised. I decided not to request any specific location and just land where we may! Well, we were placed in cabanas 8b ground floor waterview. I couldn't have requested a better location. It was steps away from a quiet pool and bus stop 4 and a lovely stroll to el centro and the dig site. We spent 4 nites and my kids loved it. The dig site was really fun. Housekeeping was fine. And I really must admit it did feel kinda deluxe. This was our first moderate, and I really would not hesitate to go back. The bus service was efficient and we really liked Pepper Market and the Maya Grill has a very nice and reasonably priced breakfast buffet.

We really enjoyed just lazing around the hotel, we rented paddle boats and spent an entire day at the resort. The kids got their hair wrapped and I had a manicure I really don't feel like I was missing out on any of the deluxe amenities.

The only negative thing I can think of is that I had no cell phone reception at all. I couldn't even charge my phone up it was really weird.

We than moved on to the Royal Pacific for 2 nites, but that is a whole other post

The only thing I can say with certainty is that I will NEVER go back in August ( or any summer months for that matter) I cannot tolerate the heat and humidity. It really is quite unbearable.

Glad to hear you liked CSR. I truely believe it is one of Disney's best kept secrets. We were there in May in Ranchos 7B and really liked our location. I have it on my to do list after I have stayed at all the other resorts!!

Glad to hear you had a great time! I am going to be there for the first time at CSR in October and can't wait! We are hoping for Cabana's also, they look so laid back.

How was the bus service btw, were the buses full by the time they got to you and did you have to wait a long time?

I will NEVER go back in the summer either, went once in August and NOPE never again! lol

Yeah! I am going to CSR in October also. Can't wait!!! I am thinking about requesting the Cabanas. My DS will be almost 3 so we will probably want to be near Dig Site. Would you suggest 8A or 9B??

It really depends on who you have. I've found that AT&T Wireless tends to get the best reception on property, and for a reason. A lot of the company phones are through AT&T Wireless... I beleive we're in the process of converting to Nextell, so I'm sure that has (or will have) decent reception.

I am also glad to hear that a lot of you are going in October!! That means more for me in December.

Did you use the spa, workout room or the business center at all? If so, what's your "review"? These are items usually left for Deluxe, but CSR has them!!

Glad to hear all the great reports on CSR. We'll be arriving there at around midnight on October 17th (flight arrives at 10:40 pm )...I sure hope we get a good room at that hour of the night...sounds like October is going to be very busy at that resort.

The buses were very efficient. We never waited more than 5 minutes, and never had to stand. In fact many times we were on the bus alone Twice the driver drove us directly to the GF where we had plans. This was a nice treat.

The only wait we did have was after AK we had dinner at the RFC and didn't get out until about 8:30. The buses were running but on a limited shared schedule so we did have to wait on the bus until it filled up. Then we had some drop offs at other resorts, but it really wasn't too bad.

9b was the closest to the dig site, however, 8a wasn't too far either. Where we were in 8b we were steps from a quiet pool which my girls loved. In the morning they had the pool to themselves except for a family of ducks who swam with them

9b is the closest to the main building, bus stop number 1 and a short walk over the bridge to the Dis Site.

8b and 9a are between the 2 cabanas above.

Oops I guess I stand corrected. I could have sworn that 9b was closest to the dig site, but buzz sure would know more than me.

Hi MOMTOOMOOTOO. We are also just back from four nights at the CSR and were in Cabanas 8B waterview. (Third floor room 8604.) We also loved the resort. My niece loved the Dig Site and the slide. (So did I!) I also agree that the weather in August is too hot and I doubt I will go back during the hotter summer months. Unfortunately, I ran into some rather rude guests, but that is another post entirely! I am glad you enjoyed your stay as much as I did.

I'm hoping to get a good Florida resident rate there for a weekend very soon! We just want to get away for a couple of days, relax, and enjoy this great resort!

Thanks for the Positive Info on CSR. I was aprehensive about the resort at first. However, everyone on the DIS boards has been so helpful and I've read such good things.

Oh my gosh! I can hardly wait! We will be there in September and we are very excited. This is the only mod we haven't been to yet. We have been checking out all the pics and it really looks like a cool place to stay. We were able to get our FL res. rate (which we couldn't in the past) so we snagged it. Glad you had fun!
