Just Back From Contemporary........

HI EVERYONE,

I JUST RETURNED FROM A WONDERFUL, BUT HOT VACATION AT DISNEY. THE FIRST THREE NIGHTS WE SPENT AT THE GROSVENOR HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN DISNEY. DESPITE ALL THE BAD REVIEWS, I HAVE TO SAY I ENJOYED IT THERE. THE FOOD WAS GOOD. THE POOL WAS GREAT. THE ROOMS WERE ADEQUATE FOR WHAT WE NEEDED. THEY WERE A LITTLE TIRED, BUT VERY CLEAN. WE HAD A VIEW OF THE POOL. FOR THE MONEY I WOULD RECOMMEND IT.

WE THEN HEADED FOR THE CONTEMPORARY FOR FOUR NIGHTS. WE LOVED IT THERE!!!! JUST A FEW COMPLAINTS. THE GIRL WHO CHECKED US IN WAS A COMPLETE *****. SHE COULDN'T EVEN SMILE. I WAS SO EXCITED TO BE THERE, BUT MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE HOTEL WASN'T GOOD. I SPOKE TO A MANAGER ABOUT HER VERY POOR ATTITUDE AND RUDENESS, BUT THAT REALLY DIDN'T GET ME ANYWHERE. WHEN WE FINALLY MADE IT UP TO OUR ROOM, THAT WAS MUCH BETTER. WE WERE ON THE 10TH FLOOR FACING THE MK. OH MY, WHAT A VIEW!!!!! GORGEOUS!!!! BEING ABLE TO SEE THE PARK AND SEVEN SEAS LAGOON WAS AWESOME.

WE ATE AT CHEF MICKEYS ONE MORNING AND CONCOURSE STEAKHOUSE ANOTHER MORNING. I RECOMEND BOTH. I ALSO RECOMEND THE WHISPERING CANYON CAFE AT THE WILDERNESS LODGE. GREAT RESTAURANT!!!!! I USED YOURRIDE BACK TO THE AIRPORT AND THEY WERE GREAT!!!! ALL AND ALL IT WAS A WONDERFUL, MAGICAL VACATION. CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK. FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS. HAVE A GOOD DAY LINDA

Glad to hear you had a great time. I'm just curious as to how crowded CR was being SOG is there. How were the pool areas? We're going in July and I'm alittle concerned about it being overly crowded.

Glad you had a good trip. We stayed at the Contemporary over New Years, on the 12th floor MK side. Really enjoyed the resort.

I WAS TOLD THAT THE HOTEL WAS ALMOST FULL. YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN IT AT THE POOL AREA. IT WAS NOT BAD AT ALL. WE ENJOYED THE ROUND POOL AT THE END BY THE MARINA, IT WAS A LITTLE MORE QUIET. I AM NOT SURE ABOUT JULY THOUGH SINCE I AM SURE IT WILL BE EVEN HOTTER. GOOD LUCK

lijory - I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your trip. We stayed at the CR last week for 2 nights at the North Garden Wing with SOG and we are staying in the CR tower in November - how did you get the MK side?
Did you request it?
Did they just give it to you with out requesting it?
Was the room as magical as it seems overlooking MK?
Where you able to see any fireworks (if there were any)?
Did you get to see the water pageant on seven sea lagoon?

I am sorry, that I am asking so many questions - we have 5 rooms booked there in November and we are so excited to be staying in the tower.

I would love for you to answer.

We loved CR, too. We had a complimentary upgrade to tower room. Enjoyed it very much. Glad you had a great trip!

I too am interested in if you did anything to get the MK view. We've stayed in teh tower before an got the Lagoon view on the other side. It was quite lovely and being as we knew NOTHING about WDW at the time and it was our first trip we were thrilled with the water pagent we knew nothing about! But I did request the MK view when I made my ressie but I guess maybe I should have mentioned I've already had the other one and it's our 10 year anniversary AND it's my mom's (55) and my son's (2 1/2) first trip...so making it as special as possible is our dream.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Contemporary. We have been to WDW 7 times and 5 of the times we stayed at the Contemporary. It is my favorite resort. I love being able to walk to MK. We will be staying at the Poly for the first time in 7 years and I am really looking forward to that. I was going to stay at Contemporary again but my 14 year DD wanted to try the Poly. I love to read about great stays at the Contemporary. Have a Disney day!!
