Just Back from BWV!

Wow, did this trip go fast! Had an excellent time at BWV, which is our home resort. We were in the Crest O' The Wave section (had Christmas lights on the balconies, anyone see them?), and a great view of the boardwalk. It was funny, we were right below the villa we had in July. BTW, I really loved the holiday IllumiNations!

BoardWalk Construction: There is still a lot of work going on where the DVC models were, and they are using the second floor villas right over them. On the boardwalk front, there is a construction barrier, and on the backside, there is still the white tent. I took a walk out back to try to see what was going on, but I really couldn't see anything. Nobody knew anything about whether there were going to be dedicated 2BR villas in there, so I guess I didn't find the right person to ask! LOL Sections of the boardwalk are also being replaced infront of the BoardWalk Bakery, and what they have done looks really nice.

The Villas: Our villa looked to be in pretty good shape, but there definetly was some wear to it. And, the balconies needed a good cleaning. Anyone have any idea when room renovations will occur?

Glad you had a good trip! I'll be so glad when all BW refurb is done, inside and out. When we stayed there last April we thought it needed it. Even though it's still nice.

If you had a rental car, how did you find the parking? Is there still a problem finding a space in self parking in the late afternoons and evenings?

We did rent a car, but always used valet. It always seemed to take a long time for them to bring the car around, even though we'd call before leaving the room. The one CM said that they were parking cars across the street, which is why it took so long.

It didn't look like any BW views were being blocked by the construction, as the wall didn't look to be quite as high as the balconies.

I wonder if the regular valet lot was full or if they were letting people self park there. The lot across the street is a pretty big hike for the valets.

DVC said they would not be using the rooms directly above the construction but I noticed they were using them when I was there in early December (rooms 2001, 03, 05, 07, 09 - Crest of the Wave), we saw lights on and people out on the balconies.

Yes, 2001/03/05/07/09 are definetly being used regardless of what DVC says. We were originally assigned to 2007/2009, but were able to get our room assignment changed. It looked like some work was going on, but not a whole lot. Most of the work being done looked to be in the other wing (I think rooms ending in 18-27 on the first floor) as well as where the red building was in the back.
