I returned on Monday from a 4 night stay at the BWV. We had a great 1-bedroom BW view (room 2033, above Thimbles and Threads). The room was in great condition, with only one small paint chip on the cabinet under the sink. I did notice that the armiore in the living room was new, but no new patio furniture yet.

The only down side to this room was the balcony. It has a half-wall balcony which blocks the view when you sit down. When you sit down, you can't see the Boardwalk - you only see the Yacht/Beach Club and Spaceship Earth. Although the view was obstructed when you sit down, it definately added a layer of privacy. If I wanted to sit on the balcony in the AM in my pajamas and eat breakfast, nobody could see me. I've had the open balconies before (as opposed to the half-wall balconies above Thimbles and Threads and the Screen Door), and each has its pros and cons. I did speak with a manager one day during my trip and officially place a suggestion (not a complaint) that when/if they replace the balcony furniture in that block of rooms, to have higher chairs placed so that the view isn't as obstructed.

The trip overall was great! Crowds were bad, but that was expected. I'm now looking forward to my next BWV vacation at New Year's!

What a good suggestion about the patio furniture.:thumbsup2

I wonder why crowds were bad? Was it Jersey week?

Glad your trip was great overall!

There were 4 factors involved that caused the crowd levels to be high: 1) Jersey Week; 2) Super Soap Weekend; 3) Last weekend of Food and Wine Festival; 4) Holiday weekend (Veteran's Day). It was a fun weekend, but crowded!

I am so glad to see a positive report!
I was getting worried. That last few times I have checked in here, I saw some horror stories and I was getting downhearted. I love my BWV and I was getting nervous about my January trip. :thumbsup2
No housekeeping complaints Debi?

No mousekeeping complaints at all! Since we only stayed 4 nights/5 days, we only had trash/towel service on our fourth full day. We left the room early in the AM, and returned home after lunch (ate lunch in Epcot), and the room had been serviced. No problems at all!

Good idea about the patio furniture!

I can't believe you thought it was crowded. We were there from the 6th-14th and only had to deal with crowds in Epcot on Saturday, the last day of F&W. At every other park we were in, for the entire week, we thought the crowds were pretty low.

Our longest wait for a ride (other than at Epcot on the 10th) was about 15 minutes. We only once rode a bus that had people standing (again, coming back from Epcot on the 10th). One day we were the only ones on a bus to the MK at about 8:30AM.

I guess we just managed to pick the non-popular park of the day.

I should have clairified about the crowds....Epcot was crowded, but the other parks were fine. Since I spend 99% of my time in Epcot, I considered the park to be crowded.

Glad to hear you had a great vacation.

Debi, how long were the lines at Epcot? I am thinking about taking my niece & nephew next year on Veteran's day weekend and I am beginning to worry about the corwds.

Glad to hear that things went well!

:thumbsup2

Not looking forward to your next trip. How can that be I'll be there:woohoo: .
Susan from JR's

Whoops! Susan, thanks for catching my mistake. That should say I'm now looking forward to my next trip. Ooops!

Lines for the major attractions (Test Track, Soarin', etc.) were 45-60 minutes, but the crowds in World Showcase were horrible. If you get to World Showcase as soon as they open (11AM), crowds are very light, but by 1PM or so, crowds get heavy.

Glad you had a great trip...

Can't wait to stay at BWV......I'm sure the crowds will be nothing
compared to New Years.....That must be a really fun time though....
Hey.....any time is fun:goodvibes

Debi,
DH and I also recently returned from BWV (11/7) and had a great vacation! :thumbsup2 Yes, the crowds were heavy, especially over the weekend, but the weather was magnificent! We found the BW CMs to be extremely welcoming and friendly, and Mousekeeping was both efficient and helpful. :goodvibes
Over many stays at BW, our experiences have been at least "okay", but this one was one of the better ones; there seemed to be a marked improvement in the CMs' "Disney spirit". :) Did you feel that, too? :flower3:

Have had those balconies. We like them actually-set a drink on the ledge and watch the BW, plus they are really big. Still like your higher chair idea though-some imagination huh? ::MickeyMo

Granny, yes, the CM's at BW seemed very friendly. I read on the DIS very recently that the Boardwalk and Polynesian recently traded General Managers. I wonder if this has something to do with it?

Debi,
One small, teeny correction..................I'm Grammy, a gal, not Granny, a guy. :rolleyes1

OMGosh, I'm so embarrassed! That was definately not intentional. Please forgive me?

Debi,
I never thought it was intentional; how could it be, since you're a fellow "Tapestry Parade-Lover"? :goodvibes
I still catch myself singing those "syllables" (were they actual words? :rolleyes1 ).

No, they're not actual words (I had the good fortune of sitting next to the original choreographer for the parade in 2000, and asked her...she said they weren't meant to be real words). It's great to 'meet' a fellow Tapestry parade lover!
