Hi all- We just returned on Sunday from DH and his friends running the goofy race. Had a great time at BWV, it was our first time there. We had a standard view and really liked being able to walk to Epcot and take a quick boat to MGM.

We were not on the dining plan but did have some good meals. We especially enjoyed Chefs de France. Our waiter was so good and we had two high school boys with us that wanted to practice their French and he was so patient and encouraging of them. We also enjoyed Whispering Canyon Cafe. All the children in our group kept asking to go back to the place with the pony rides! It was a hoot!!

On the weekend, to save points, we switched over to the All-star Music Family Suites and I was suprisingly pleased. Having 2 full bathrooms was great! It wasn't DVC but I expected it to be much worse. (We have been spoiled by DVC and have a hard time going back to the value resorts--I know, I know--what a snob!!) :rolleyes1

We did have some pixie dust come our way. We originally were going to go down on the 2nd, but we decided to see if anything was available on the 1st. We tried for several days to no avail then the morning of the 1st we called and lucked out. We quickly packed the car and drove down and in 7 hours we were on the Boardwalk!!!! :wizard:

My family has gone this same week for the past 4 years for the marathon but this year I thought it was way more crowded than usual. We didn't have any trouble getting on rides but the parks were just more packed than they have been at this same time the past few years.

Well, thanks for reading my rambling post.

I'm glad you had such a nice trip. How wonderful that you got the extra day and could take advantage of it!

Nice report:wizard: And don't worry about being a snob, DVC does spoil you. I almost laughed at a coworker when he suggested I should just get rid of DVC and stay at a Holiday Inn!:scared1: Don't get me wrong, I've stayed at H.I. and will stay again IF I have too. But the nerve of him!:lmao:

Thanks for reading everyone. We are going again in June but it won't be DVC. My DH has a conference and we will be at the Swan, I believe. I hope I won't be too snobby then, after all these AP's have to be used as much as possible!!! :rotfl:

One of these years I want to participate in something during the marathon weekend! Glad you enjoyed your trip :)

We were in WDW until 1/6, and also felt it was very crowded, but isn't there usually one weekend in between New Year's and the marathon? The crowds from New Year's, including us, were still there.
