Arrived back early Sunday morning from 1-BR at BWV. Room and pool were in excellent condition -- love taking the boat to EPCOT & MGM -- we took our car to AK & MK. Dropped off our luggage at 9:30 AM at BWV and went to MGM where we picked up our first AP at MGM Guest Relations. First time our youngest DD6 daughter could ride the Rockin Roller coaster but she did not like it but loved Expedition Everest the next day. Saw our favorite Fantasmic show twice, Illuminations, Wishes and Spectromagic shows.

Did the Disney Dining Plan for the first time and it was a great value and you get so much food! Paid $ 749.00 for 6 days for 3 adults + 1 child (DD 10 is considered an adult). Each table meal would have cost about $ 110-150 per night, each counter meal was $ 50.00 and daily snack was $12-15. Having a table meal each night gave us 1.5 hours to relax and try new restaurants -- Our reservations were at Prime Time Cafe (MGM), Teppenyaki (EP), Boma (AKL), Chef Mickey (CR), La Cellier (EP), Liberty Tree Tavern (MK). We were very happy with our meals and would say La Cellier (sp?) in Canada was the best. I did not think that I would like the structure of having to be at certain place at a certain time but it is much better to be prepared and make your reservations well in advance -- you can not just walk up anymore to any of these restaurants and get in (saw countless people try each night) so our
obsessive compulsive behavior to plan in advance is rewarded in the new dining system.

Thanks for the report, and the additional insight into the Dining Plan. We have never made ADR's before arriving at WDW before during the summer (except for a couple of character meals), and never had a problem getting into our favorite restaurants. It sounds like ADR's are a must at this point.

Great to hear that your room was in excellent condition. And glad you had an enjoyable trip. :)

Thanks for the report. We are headed to the BWV for a week in early August. We are facing the dilemma of the DDP since our youngest son will now be considered an adult. So you feel it was still a good deal having to pay as an adult for a child's eating habits? It looks good to me but my DH has reservations.
Thanks

We use to never make adr's either , until now. Last two trips we were on DDP and had adr's for most meals and one's we didnt we had a difficult time getting TS . Also quite a few times waiting for a table with adr's walkins were turned away for lack of space. I've seen that before but not to the extent I did these last two trips.

It's an excellent value -- the table meals each night paid for the daily cost of the plan. Do we normally spend $ 750 in food for six nights when we go to WDW? Probably not -- somewhere between $ 500-600 is our norm but that would be one table service dinner, one character breakfast, and many counter service meals without desserts.

We were at BWV last week too! It was a wonderful week. The weather was nice and the crowds were not too bad (except at MK after about 11:00 am--we only stayed in the mornings).

Our rooms were nice too (had two studios--DH's family came with us). The pool was great, the walk to Epcot was very pleasant and we walked and took the boat to MGM.

We tried Spoodles for the first time and really liked it. Went to Beaches & Cream (as we usually do) and had a No Way Jose. We also tried Picabu's at the Dolphin (formly Tubbi's) and it was a nice alternative for fast food in the area (don't forget to bring your DVC card for the 20% off discount).

We own at BCVs, and we love it there, but we also loved BWVs. The Epcot resorts are great!

Thanks sounds like you had a good vacation.

Thanks JMC-I think we've decided to go ahead with the DDP. It definitly looks like a great deal. Can't wait.

It's true that without advanced reservations you will not get into the popular restaurants. On our last trip, we had an advanced reservation for Le Chellier. We had a long wait. They told us that they typically overbook by about 30% because of all the no-shows.
