We just returned lastnight :( from 9 wonderful days at WDW. Lots of "Welcome Home" greetings throughout the entire week. This was DH's first time "home" so he got a kick out of that. Every CM was cheery and pleasant. You really got that "Magical" feeling as soon as you arrived.

We stayed in Room 3123 which made me very happy! We had requested that room and was pleased when we got it. Yes it's a LONG walk to the elevators, but it's a corner room so you have the very large living room and balcony. Everything was very clean and in order. No mold, dust, food leftovers, or any of the other things you may have read about here on the boards. One note: ants... I saw more of them in the kitchen this year than prior years. No problem. Just pickup the crumbs that drop on the floor!!! Once I got the "boys" to clean up after themselves, problem gone! ;)

You had a great view each night of the fireworks from Epcot too!

I saw/heard no renovation work at all. Just one day, as we walked to the bus, they were steam cleaning some of the balconies on the side rooms. But that was only one day.

Transportation seems to have improved. We did EE to MK one day and only had about a 10 minute wait for a bus and there was plenty of room for all.

Parks were crowded. We only did 1 EE day and that was the MK. We utilized FP alot and it really worked out well. Weather wise it rained for the first couple of days we were there. But that was really to our advantage because most of the parks were not that bad on those days. We walked onto Mission Space (I don't like it; I got sick again) and had a really short wait for TT. But once the sun came out, so did the crowds! But all in all it wasn't that bad.

If there are any questions I'll be happy to try and answer them.

Your bus news is welcomed!

I'm glad you had such a great time.

Glad you had a great time. Thanks for reporting back. I can't wait for our first 'Welcome Home' in 18 days!!!

I'm glad you had such an enjoyable trip, and that you got exactly the room you wanted! Thanks for your great trip report. :D

I've requested 5123 about a million times now & never gotten it, so congrats on getting the room you requested!!!!

Thanks for the report! Sounds like a great time - except for getting sick on mission space:(

This is the first chance I've had to reply back. The boards must have been having problems cause I couldn't access them.

Bus situation - YES!! This was a major concern for me too. See, this was DH's first time "Home". We've been owners since 1999 and he's never been to the BW. So I really wanted everything to be just perfect and it was!

Room 3123 - about 1 month prior to the trip I had to make a minor adjustment to the ressie. I asked if I could "request" a room understanding that it wasn't a guarante I'd get it. When I checked in, the CM at the front desk noticed immediately that I had asked for 3123 and without even asking me, she checked for availability and said "I have a surprise for you". I asked "what" and she told me we got the room.

Mission Space - some love it some unfortunately can't do it. This was my second attempt and DH's first. I'll never do it again. We heard that when it first opened last August many complained about getting ill from the ride and Disney looked into that. Supposedly, they have "calmed" down the "motion" effect. I didn't see a difference but DS did immediately. One man in the pod ahead of us immediately "got sick" when the doors opened and he ran to the first trash bin. Poor thing....

I'm posting a separate thread on "Disney Magic". There definately is magic in WDW. All I'll say is it "changed my DH" and the rest you'll have to read.

Please feel free to ask away. We ate at Le Cellier, ESPN, Chef Mickey's, Rain Forest at DTD, San Angel Inn, Yakatori House, Room Service (first night tradition) and Spoodles.

Sure do wish I was sitting on the Boardwalk right now....:wave2:

chris1gill--

fyi, room 5123 does not exist!! that's probably why you never got that room.... the 5th floor is a short floor and ends at 5095.

But, 2123,3123, and 4123 do exist.

Linda,

I had room 3123 in December! Wasn't it wonderful! I didn't request it, I had requested across from the bus stop, top floor. I was disappointed when the cm said we were at the end of the hall (it was not ready when we checked in so I didn't know the room #). I was so excited when I called to see if our room was ready and they said 3123!

What a view! One night I watched & listened to Fantasmic from the bedroom balcony, then watched & listened to Illuminations from the living room corner balcony! All for standard view points!

We found some ants one morning, my mom had left a package of crackers open on the counter. I took all the food off the counter, put it on the table and wiped down the countertop, we didn't have any problems after that.

I requested one of those rooms when I was there with 3 friends in April, I figured we could use the extra space. I checked 2123 one day in December, there was not a "no smoking" decal on it, so I only requested 3123 or 4123. Not only did we not get it, we ended all the way down at the opposite end by Jellyrolls (3002).

Hi Debbie!

This was our second time in 3123. The first time was 2 years ago and we absolutely loved the room. It was such a surprise when we first walked in!! All that room!! Then last year we splurged and had a boardwalk view. That was nice, but you know something...for the amount of points used, 3123 was just as nice. And..we had a better view of the fireworks from 3123!!

But I was so surprised to get that room. I had to tell DH however, that normally you don't have all that room in the living room. This way next year if we don't get a corner room, he won't wonder what happened? This was his first trip home since we purchased in '99.

Are any of these ..23 rooms connectable for 2BR? Doubt we coiuld get one in December, but if so, I'd like to try!

These rooms are dedicated one bedroom units and do not connect to a studio to make a 2 bedroom unit.

Best wishes -

Hi,

Glad you had a good time!!!

Allison

offtheice - 3123 is a 1BR unit. It's a great room if you don't mind the l-o-n-g walk to the elevators!
