We did: MK,AK,MGM, Epcot, Typhoon Lagoon, and Discovery Cove. Let me know if there is anything you were wondering about?

Both hotels were good for different reasons - quite happy with both. Nick Hotel is almost completly finished -- the main pool is open now. I wouldn't say it isn't quite as nice as BWV, but the fact their are 2 br's and 3 tv's is quite nice. The staff and ammenities are also very good at Nick. Overall I would rate BWV a 4.5/5 (lose half a point due to long elevator walk). And Nick would be a 3.5/5. (some might rate higher, but I think I was spoiled with BWV.

Did you eat onsite? What was the walking distance to the pool? Is there any area better to request a room in?

I've been reading some VERY negative reviews from people who stayed at Nick recently. We are staying there in 2 weeks, so I'm starting to get worried. Could you tell me how the staff treated you? Did you eat at the hotel buffet at all? How was the food? How was check-in? Is there a laundry facility there - is it near the pool?

Thanks, Mary

I'm not sure if they moved it, but when we were there in October, it was on the top floor of one of the buildings. The buffet breakfast wasn't great but it was free. Now that everyone's paying for it, I'm sure it will be better quality. The staff was amazing!! My son mentioned it would be his birthday when we and he checked in, and a few days later on the day of his bday, when we got back that night, there was a ballon bouquet with a card and a little bucket of candy waiting for him in the room. He was thrilled! The other restaurant food was good though, they had a pizza hut, and an A&W as well. Those restaurants qualified for the kids to eat free too. Room service was a bit pricey but it's like that at all hotels. Hope this helps!

The staff was awesome - actually surprised that they remained so enthusiastic everytime they did the Nick games both poolside and in the studio. They were 100% excellent. I saw very few construction guys and they were pretty much out of the way (not hanging around by the pool or anything). The check-in had one person in front of me. The check in guy was totally willing to find me a room which I requested (ground floor not facing the pool). I think the rooms facing the pool would be a little noisy (we have a baby). Anyway, we were in building 5, which is by the smaller pool (maybe takes 10 seconds to walk around the corner to get into the pool area), and very close to the mall. Ground floor is nice - no stairs or elevators and our car was right in front. We were happy to be by the smaller pool. It seemed warmer, and because they other pool with the giant slide thing just opened, our pool was less crowded. We did go to the bigger one one day (a couple minute walk) -- it really wasn't that crowded either.
We ordered from Pizza Hut one day - not too impressed with that. We had the buffet character breakfast one day -- pretty good (staff was aweswome). Then we ate ate Ponderossa, just up the road (about a mile) a couple times (3.99 buffet breakfast, $8.99 buffett dinner - both quite good).
Laundry was right around the corner from our room - lots of machines, and we were the only ones using it.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here - we liked it (only wish our days weren't so full with the parks, so we could spend more time relaxing by the pools.

So, they are already doing the character breakfast? I thought that didn't begin until end of May or beginning of June.

<addition> I just called them, and character breakfasts started on 4/1.

We are staying at the Nick Hotel in July.
I think my kids are as excited about going to the Nick Hotel as they are about Disney, since we showed them the brochure.
It seems like a great deal to get a 2 bedroom themed suite in a hotel that is themed with a fun looking pool area, and a mile or some from disney.
Any tips you can offer are much appreciated
Besides the room is there any thing we need to make reservations for in advance at the Nick hotel? (character meals etc)
:thewave:

Also
Just curious what was the prices and room sizes for the BWV vs the Nick Hotel.
Thanks again

Hi - just wanted to let you know that we're staying at Nick Hotel June 29 and 30th and I already made reservations for the character breakfast - so they are taking them.

Character meals started April 1st. Beakfast was $8 for kids, and $16 for adults. reservation the night before, but certainly didn't need it -- only about 15% full at 9:30. Don't really need reservations anywhere else -- they have Nick at Night shows in the Studio at 7:15, 8:15, and 9:15. You can make a reservation for this, but we never had to. During the day they ask for families to be part of the show that night. My wife and son did "Who knows best: which was like the Newleywed game.
We paid $850 for 5 nights at BWV (BWV was a studio room which is a queen bed and pullout couch - with a fridge, and microwave) and then $185 per night at Nick Hotel. Both were good for different reasons -- Nick primarily for the privacy and the activities. One thing, there was no dish soap in the Nick rooms - had to buy it there. Maybe bring a traveller and a couple dish clothes.

DeeBomb....was the new little eatery open in the BC....and if so ...what did they have...thanks...amy :flower:

I have friends who will be staying at the Nick hotel in June. They will be flying and will not have a car. How is the transportation to the disney parks?

The restaurant in BC? Are you referring to Beach Club? If so, we didn't stay there, so I don't know. As far as transportation to the parks goes. We had a car - so we didn't use the hotels. But I saw it, and it wasn't crowded. I think they have set times (ie depart at 9:30, and return at 4:30 and 5:30 etc). They are not continuous all day. I also think they stop at other hotels. I would tell your friend to rent a car - We got a full size through Alamo for a week for $200. You are very close to the parks, and simple to get to them. Having a car there would make thinkgs easier. Plus you can eat offsite, and save a bundle (plus buy groceries and Disney souveners at Wallmart (10 - 15 minutes away).
