Just spent 7 nights at the BWV at a 1 bedroom (7/7 to 7/14) We were in room 1105. On the second night, I could hear a loud scrapping sound from the a/c unit near the front door. I called housekeeping the next day and they sent someone. That night the sound stopped but it did smell like they applied some oil or something. Anyway, the next day the unit just didn't work. I called housekeeping and that night it worked. The next night I smelled something burning. It's 9:00 pm, my 2 kids and wife are asleep in the bedroom. We all just had a long day at MK. Two very nice guys came but said they needed some help. (I certainly got their attention when I said something was burning) They go get help. I figure, it's time to request a new room or I'll be up all night with these engineer guys. I ask for the manager and request a change. I have learned from these boards that we must speak up for our stay and the future stays of other members. It worked. The night manager on duty was extremely nice and could not be more helpful. He found us a room 5 doors down the hall and the move was not too painful. I carried my kids (asleep) down the hall. I saw the staff working on the room 1105 the next day. I would guess they were changing the fan or some "real" fix so a future stay won't be interrupted.

Other observations, the location to MGM and EPCOT continues to amaze me everytime. If you watch Illuminations from the UK area. You catch the boat after the last firework and you're in you're BW place by 9:40 ish. Totally painless!!!

Also walked home from MGM fantasmic show, real nice at night. As a matter of fact, my second room is probably considered far from the elevators. However, I did not have any trouble with it and using the entrance at the end of the hall made a shorter trip to MGM.

Also, I didn't hate the first floor. Just watch the ducks, I guess some folks really feed those guys.

I'll add if I think of any else, of course, I'll answer any questions.

I am glad to hear you had such good service from the BWV front desk manager in regards to a problem at the resort. It is customer service like this that makes a stay at Disney so special. I agree the location of the Epcot resorts is awesome and just can't be beat! Glad to hear you had a nice trip!

Sounds like things worked out well. Glad to hear it.

Could you tell me the status of the refurbishment? I have a ressie for August, and have requested a BW view. Wondered what it looks like?

Glad you had a great trip dave. We can't wait till our trip to BCV in Sept. ....dave:cool:

A1A1,
The refurbishment is moving right along. As far as the BW, the section over the Brewery has scaffolding (sp). The area's around it are not being worked on. As far as the pool, the left side scaffolding is being taken down while the center section is being done.

Just a note, I accidently walked out a door that put me in the construction area at the pool. What I noticed was how the grass/landscape is totally destroyed. (the side behind the bar). I guess we'll be seing some new lush landscape when this project is done.

Enjoy...

Regarding the BW renovations - does anyone know when the renovations will be complete. I'm planning a trip down for next June and BW is one of the places I'm considering staying, but I hate to stay in a resort where there is alot of construction going on.

We stayed at BWV June 9-21. Had a boardwalk view on the second floor right over the DVC sales office in the Crest o Wave area. The renovation over the brewery didn't affect us that much. We spent plenty of time watching Illuminations fireworks without interference. Also used the Luna Park pool during that time. Yes they were working on the area behind the hottub and bar, but who can beat a warm afternoon at the pool with a "beverage" in your hand.

The Who,

I'm so glad that the night manager at BWV did the right thing and moved your room! We were not so lucky while staying at OKW the ceiling in our kitchen area of our studio began raining water down on us! The leak ruined food, - also clothes that were hanging in the closet got drenched, the water began coming down so heavy that there were puddles on the carpet, etc. The manager who was on at OKW did NOTHING but give us an attitude. There were no other studios available that day and they were going to charge us the extra points for a one bedroom! It took over 2 hours, and 3 managers before the situation was rectified - we left OKW and moved the remainder of our stay to VWL - where I must say the CM's are wonderful - opposed to the CM that we delt with while checking out of OKW who made me feel like I was inconveniencing her! Meanwhile, there is no way I could be responsible for the ceiling leaking - did she think we were all doing some sort of rain dance in there?? As a result, I must say that I have not stayed at OKW since, and probably won't stay there again for a long time.
