Hubby and I just back from a great stay at the Boardwalk Villas. We rented points from someone here on DIS and it couldn't have been easier. We are huge Universal fans and we love the Hard Rock and Royal Pacific hotels. However, the prices, even for annual pass holders have become too high. For this reason, I think our next trip will be to WDW.

The Boardwalk is gorgeous. I love theme, although not crazy about the pool theme, but we heard from one of the lifeguards that it will be changing soon.

Our room was ready at ten am on check in day. Very nice surprise. Upper floor as requested. View would have been nice as our balcony overlooked the Swan or Dolphin, not sure which, with the TOT in the background. However there was a huge crane fenced in under us. Oh well, we were fine with it, I don't let things like that impact my vacation. However, upon returning to our room that afternoon, there was a family next door that was so loud. The walls seem to be paper thin at this resort. We had a studio, so maybe that had something to do with it. The older kids were yelling and the baby was screaming crying. They sounded like they were in our room! It is not their fault in any way, I have two grown children and I remember those days, but we were not about to stay in that room. We went to the front desk and asked to be moved. We were accommodated, and moved to a first floor room on the opposite side with a worse view if that is possible. No worries though. It took us a few days but we finally realized we could exit a door up the hall a bit and were a very close distance to the bus stop and Lobby. These walls were also paper thin but our neighbors on both sides seemed to be couples and their only noise was talking on the phone, of which we heard every word that was said.

We loved the location, to be able to walk to our favorite park and also the studios is priceless to me. I hate waiting for buses. The times we did take the buses, they were very timely and the bus was not shared with the Swan and Dolphin as someone told me before we left.

We enjoyed the actual Boardwalk and ate at several places during our stay. All were good. The Abracadabar was fun and actually opened at 2pm, even though the Disney App said 4pm. Just an FYI, we would have visited more if we had known that.

There is a very good chance we will return to the Boardwalk Villas on our next trip. We walked around the yaht club and beach club and it doesn't really appeal to me. The pool looked so fun though, and if I had young kids I would probably choose the beach club. We went to the Polynesian for the start of our monorail pub crawl and this is a serious consideration for our next trip too, if renting points there is an option.

Happy to answer any questions.

Wanted to add that we did the pool one afternoon and it was very nice. They had staff - a very enthusiastic young woman doing pool games for the kids. This allows the parents to relax a bit. lol It's not a big deal to go to the bar to get your drinks, but we love the Hard Rock and Royal Pacific pool bars at Universal, and they gave great pool chairside service. We can spend hours lounging at those pools. This pool did not have that vibe, but was still fun.

We love the Hard Rock too. I think its service and amenities beat Disney's most every time.

We will be staying at BWI in 13 days . . . first time for us at an Epcot resort! Looking forward to returning to the resort after a day in the parks for a little R & R and then walking to Epcot for dinner. Did you by chance go to Jelly Rolls? We want to do that one night after dinner and am curious if there's a night that's better than another (Friday v. Saturday).

Friday will be a tad less crowded than Saturday. But both nights should be fun as there will be good crowds.

Sorry we did not go. I really wanted to but I am a morning person and we did rope drop everyday. It is on my short list for next trip. You will love walking to Epcot and the studios. There is nothing better in my opinion than early morning walking thru the international gateway to a full morning at my favorite park. Enjoy!

Lol, well, we are rope drop people, too, but would still like to check it out for a couple of hours maybe. We will have had a few hours rest between park and dinner so hopefully we'll be okay. :goodvibes

Well in my limited experience, piano bars don't get fun until after 10pm. I have never been to this one so I can't comment. I am done after fireworks at Disney - literally exhausted, but that's me. We took long mid day breaks everyday. More power to you if can go later - I wish I could.

Well, it could be overly optimistic for me to think we can hang, too, lol . . .
