:sunny: Just returned yesterday morning from a long weekend at the Beach Club Villas. Stayed in a 2BR with DH and me, and another couple on a cash ressie (didn't want to deplete my points - is that wrong? :rotfl: )

The weather was great, except for Saturday. Good grief, it was cold with 50 mph winds! Thursday & Friday, weather was sunny and 78 degrees. Sunday, sunny and 60 degrees). But Saturday, sheesh. I can take the cold, but I did not like the wind.

Anyhoo, this is the first time we have stayed in a 2BR anywhere on property, and our first time staying at the Beach Club. All four of us loved it!

We loved being able to walk to Epcot and take the Friendship to MGM. The bus to Magic Kingdom was convenient. We chose to drive to the Animal Kingdom, though.

We also thought the gym is the nicest one we have been to on property (although we have several more we need to sample, :hyper: ). Stormalong Bay is incredible, but sadly, I didn't have a chance to park my rear on the lazy river. Beaches & Cream is a must-do. We had lunch there as soon as we arrived. It was great. The cheeseburger and rootbeer float ROCK!

Since we'd never stayed at the Beach Club before, it did take a couple of days to get oriented (we walked all over the Beach Club and Yacht Club before we found Beaches & Cream; and we never did find Atlantic gift & sundry shop - unless that's what's known as Marketplace? Maybe one of you experts can clear up our confusion :scratchin: ). The Goofy character breakfast at Cape May was really cute, and the food was good considering that it was buffet.

Switching gears, DH and I have been to WDW before with DSD, but our friends had never been, so I played tour guide, a little bit. They were impressed with the resort, the parks, and especially with the dining.

We had a very good meal at the Flying Fish Cafe the first night. The second night, we had an Outstanding meal at Jiko. The third night we were supposed to have dinner at Cinderella's Table, but our DF had a 24 hour stomach virus, so we scrapped our plans. And the last night, we had a very good meal at Yachtsmen's Steakhouse.

Our friends said the experience at Jiko is easily among the best dining experiences that they have ever had. I have to agree. The food, and the wine recommended by our waiter, was excellent. I guess I should do a dining report, huh?

At any rate, our friends were very surprised with the quality of the dining at WDW, from the table service restaurants to the snack stands at Epcot (had a great lunch at Tangierine Cafe).

Our friends were so impressed with DVC, they are now considering buying in, lol. My DF said that before the trip she would never have considered a time share, but now that she knows how great it can be, she'd like to buy in, although she might consider non-DVC. I told her to be careful and to do her homework. If she doesn't buy DVC, I told her to look into Marriott (and maybe she'll invite us along :teeth: ), but told her that their system is a little different than ours.

Funny, DH was never crazy about WDW, but the night before we left, I asked if he would stay in a studio at BCV (or Saratoga Springs since we haven't stayed at our home resort yet) with me for a few days to lounge (and eat and drink around the World Showcase, of course). Surprisingly, he said "Definitely!"

So all in all, the trip was a big hit. I need to plan a trip so we can get on Expedition Everest - I'll use my nephew as an excuse, lol. (Uggh, you would think that the itch to go would subside once you take a trip down, but the trip does not seem to satisfy the itch - anyone else experience this?)

The Atlantic Gift shop is over on the Yacht Club Hotel side, it is past the elevators on the other side of the lobby, past the check in desk.

Glad you enjoyed the resort.

Sounds like a great trip. Hopefully your friends will decide that DVC is the way to go and they will invite you along to their home next time.

We have found that no matter how many times we scratch that itch it never seems to go away! But we really don't want it to anyway. :flower:

Glad you had so much fun on your trip. :cool1:

I think many people underestimate the dining at WDW. :sunny:

Glad you had a great weekend.

Great trip report! One of my favorite things about traveling to WDW is the dining. Jiko and Flying Fish are favorites of ours. It is amazing how DVC sells itself. :hyper:

Thanks for the trip report. The reasons you cited are the very reasons we like BCV. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Great report. We love Jiko as well.
