OK, so maybe it's not so short.

We had room 548, right next door to last year's room! (546) While it may have been fun to have the same room, it would hav been too much like a traditional timeshare. ;)

We still had the great Epcot view, only we had split balconies instead of the one long balcony which 546 has. We could see SSE, the tops of the Land and Imagination pavilions, and some backstage areas in World Showcase behind Canada and UK. I think we could almost see some construction for the Soarin' attraction, but there were too many trees to be sure. The deciduous trees are getting tall enough that they are starting to impact the view from even from the 5th floor. In a few years the view may be seriously degraded from some rooms.

We had virtually no noise from the highway or from other rooms, except for the one morning when our neighbors in 546 both took showers at 4AM. Perhaps they were catching an early flight that morning. If you want highway noise you can go out on your balcony, but the doors are very well insulated and you just don't hear anything when they're shut. I wish I could say WE were quiet, but a certain 7 year old boy never stops talking and was often too loud, in spite of repeated stern reminders there may be people living next door. Hopefully there weren't. It is very difficult to judge occupancy at BCV -- it always seems like there's nobody around!

The room was in very good condition, except for a number of missing kitchen items. We were missing one cereal bowl and the two plastic juice glasses. We reported these at the beginning of our stay and they were not replaced; housekeeping just brought paper cups and cereal bowls. We were also short on spoons -- we only had 6 teaspoons and 3 soup spoons; I think we're supposed to have 8 of each. We reported the missing spoons at checkout. BC housekeeping seems to put very low priority on replacing missing items.

It was a cold week, but we did manage to get down to SAB on one afternoon. The whirlpool was in operation, but the bubbles and sinking sand areas were not. We still had a good time, especially after DS7 took advantage of the free life vest rental. at Poolside Gifts.

Thanks for the report erikthewise... Sounds like you had a good time.

P.S. Only 7 more days til you get to see gandalf again!

At least you tried and that's all I ever expect from kids. A lot of people (myself included) aren't used to condo-style living and "forget" to keep it down. As long as you remind him, it'll sink in eventually.

Thanks for an informative post.

This happened at Wilderness Lodge (the resort, not VWL). We stayed one time in the wing with rooms facing MK and could see the fireworks clearly over the trees, as well as Cindy's castle top. A few years later, we stayed in almost the same room and the trees had grown to almost completely obscure the view.

I hope that those who like that EPCOT view aren't disappointed in the future. I'm not familiar enough with BCV to know if this could affect a large number of rooms or only a handful.

Whatever you guys do - donot recommend cutting back the tree's. They cut back bush at OKW and all heck broke out.

What a nice gesture:D
Pulling that from her post to compliment and encourage her efforts is absolutely top-shelf in my opinion.

Well done! Feel free to take a couple of extra gold stars from petty cash:teeth:
