Hi. We had rooms 422 and 225 for an overnight trip (on the way to Port Canaveral).

One room was a handicapped room (225), the other a typical room. Both were in very good repair with no problems.

I checked in about noon, room 422 was ready at 3:30. Now, they call you instead of you calling them. I guess they were being bugged to death by folks, and there's only five of them.

New carpet in the halls looked great! There were new washer and driers in the mini laundromat, and the new sofa beds were pretty comfortable as well.

I had good meals at Beaches and Cream and the Brewery.

After all the reports I'd heard about declining quality, I was pretty happy with the overall upkeep of the Boarwalk and the BCV.

Thanks for taking the time to post. Good to hear all was well with your rooms :thumbsup2

DH and I were just talking about that on our trip in early October. We wondered why they don't just take down your cell phone number when you check in and call you when your room is ready. I'm glad to hear that at BCV at least, they are doing this. I hope this great idea spreads to the other resorts as well!

Yeah, I was surprised since I hadn't heard anyone else mention it.

It also means that the phone call is always going to be a happy one....like "Your room is ready!" Instead of lots of disappointments.

When I checked in Oct 16, they took my cell number and called me. It was so nice I didn't have to keep calling. The only bad thing, :rotfl2: was I did not have a pad of paer to write down the room number. So when we got to the BCV we were guessing which room it might be. Might I say it was Wine & Food fest at EPcot.:rotfl2: WOW don't I miss it.

Glad to hear that Beach Club is looking good, I am checking in on Nov 11th for my first DVC Stay! Thanks for posting!:)

They took my cell phone # back in August, but never called. I waited and waited and finally called them myself and they said, yes it's ready. Grrr.

I'm so glad to hear that room 422 was in good repair. It tells me that maintenance does listen! I had that room in 9/2006, and although I loved the view and the location, I told the head of maintenance that the room did look very tired. I even took a bunch of pictures to show some of the stains and furniture gouges. This is so encouraging that the villa's in better shape. Like I told him, if it were in better shape I'd love to get it again-and now I would!

Really? That is cool!

I would be afraid of that and would call them as a precaution.:thumbsup2

I'm curious, since you were placed on 225, did you request a handicapped room?

No, but since we were only there one night, we didn't sweat it. And actually, we could have been comfortable in the room longer. The only true downside I saw was they didn't have separate sinks on the outside of the bathroom. They did have a tub, and the bathroom was HUGE!

I will say that the coffee table was a bit beat up. But you know, that stuff never bothers me. We stay at a place in Cape Cod that's almost 100 years old, and it has the same worn look going on.

But the couch was new, and the other furniture looked it good shape. I had brought 6 other folks with me for the two studios, and everyone loved them.
