Hi... we just returned from the BC for 3 nights and 4 nights at the poly..
We had stayed at the poly before but never BC..I liked the BC OK... but was not blown away by it like I am the poly...the pool was big and had a sand bottom...but my 11 year old thought it was boring...she did like the whirl pool part...my husband and my 14 year old liked the BC..not having a food court was a pain....if you want to spend alot of time at epcot...I would stay here..we did eat at Beaches and Cream 2 times,, best part of the BC....... just wanted to mention... did request ... near the lobby full balcony....I know they are just requests... we had a pratial balcony and were over by the quiet pool... which is very far from the lobby... you can get lost...best way was to walk out side and then in...it was easy to walk to epcot...then we moved on to the poly..... I felt like my vactioned just started.............I love the poly....it is so magical.....my requests were all filled....Samoa ... ground floor....facing volcano pool....my 11 year old and I like this pool better even thought it is smaller than SAB... I think the slide is better and more fun...we liked having a food court also..and the boat to MK is the best...any questions just ask........amy

Welcome back and thanks for the report. I had the same feelings when we stayed at the YC than moved over to the Polynesian. I think I like the YC better than the BC and like you said the pool is nice at the YC/BC but I like the Polynesian pool right on the beach myself and I think the Polynesian slide is the best resort slide I have been on. The SAB slide was not that great and I only wanted to go down it once. When I am at the Polynesian I go down the slide multiple times.

Thanks again for the report.

Aloha

Steve

 I also forgot to mention.... how great is was watching the fireworks from the beach at the poly.....:wave2: amy

I own DVC at BCV and love it there. I've only stayed at the Poly once for two days and I wasn't blown away by it. To be fair, it rained almost nonstop while we were there and I hated walking to the room in the rain and that probably tainted my experience. I'm sure I'll be back to give it another try as we usually stay two days at a regular resort before or after the DVC days. I took my DGD9 to BCV for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was also her first time at SAB. I asked her which pool she liked better and she said the pool at the Poly because she likes the slide better at the Poly. Now, if only Disney would build a DVC unit at the Poly.......

Aloha Jennymouse,

Now you are talking!!!! a villa at the Polynesian!!!

I did enjoy the tubs to rent and float around in SAB. That was great.

I bet it would have been bad if it was raining the whole time. Maybe next visit will be better.

Aloha

Steve

Thanks for the report. I love both resorts and like to split stay. Best of both worlds.

We have stayed at the Polynesian numerous times. We may be going back this November, and I thought we might try the Beach Club. I have a 12 year old who loves the volcano pool at the Polynesian, but I heard the BC pool was just great. Since it will be only a 5 day/4 night trip, I'm leaning back to the Poly. We stayed one year at the CB, but it was so big and the buses were too crowded, we just didn't enjoy ourselves like we did at the Polynesian:earsboy:

You've summed up our feelings about the difference between BC/YC and the Polynesian very well. We've had a few short stays at BC and many, many vacations at the Polynesian.

Now that we do own at BCV, we often split our stay between the two although I enjoy BCV MUCH more than BC. However, if there was a DVC property at the Polynesian.....well that would be heaven!

My family prefers the Polynesian pool and slide as well although SAB is great in its own way. Of course, both of my sons actually liked the old slide at the Polynesian even more. Traditionalists I guess!:D

on this subject. Well - maybe not an real expert. Up until this past Feb., the YC/BC was our favorite. In fact, we swore by it - wouldn't stay any place else. Loved the Epcot Resort area, SAB and the whole experience. We liked BC a tad better than YC.

But, we stayed at the Poly in Feb and we have a new favorite. I still miss Stormalong Bay. But, the Seven Seas Lagoon beats Crescent Lake any day! The Poly has the true Disney spirit, the "magic" if you will. We love the lush surroundings and the relaxing feel.

Still think YC/BC is a fantastic resort - it's a close second. If I had to stay at either - I'd be happy either way. Did that make sense?

Anyway - guess what? We're off for our second trip to the Poly in just 6 short days. That should tell you something.

A L O H A!!!

Six previous trips to WDW and have stayed at the Polynesian every time. Kids are now older, and proximity to EPCOT has us changing to BC for upcoming trip in three weeks. I'm the only one in the family with any concern; I guess I'll know soon.

I can honestly say that I love the BC/YC, Poly, and CR equally. When I stay at one, I wish I were at one of the others.
