hi all!! just home from All Star Movies.....anybody have any questions?? for the record, it was great and we'd stay again!!!!

glad you had a great time.

Our children loved AsMo! And, come to think of it, it was OUR first time with all of the kids, too. Our first family vacation.....ahhhhh what memories. We were only there for 3 nights though(we had just come from a week at the beach). My DH LOVED all of the money we saved by staying there(we had gotten a $49 discount rate).

Glad you came through Charley, also.

Are the rooms as small as I keep hearing? Will there be enough room to have a sleeping bag on the floor between the two beds (kids cannot share bed). How about closet space and drawer space. We are a family of four (kids aged 10 & 8). Thank you, we are excited to go but had somebody tell us we are completely nuts to attempt 10 nights at this resort. I hate people who rain on my parade hope you can give me some good news!

Amy & Dan.....
in my opinion, the rooms are a bit smaller than a standard holiday inn room you'd get anywhere, but unless you plan to LIVE in the room, it should be fine. there is plenty of room between the beds, or (in our room) even under the window by the door for a sleeping bag. you should have NO problem fitting a sleeping bag in the room somewhere....heck, there's a table and 2 chairs!! the closet was a rack to hang clothes on like at any regular hotel...not fancy. but, there was ample room to hang clothes. (only thing i didn't like was it was next to the sink. you know how messy kids can be....didn't think that was the smartest place to put a clothes rack!) drawer space was impressive to me....i had read the same stories on the boards as i'm sure you have, but there was plenty of drawer space...and the drawers were deeper than i thought they'd be. you may have some problems if you plan to stay 10 nights...but, you will definately be able to put about 6 days worth of clothes in the drawers before needing to grab some clean clothes out of the suitcases. i'm guessing most stay at moderate resorts and when they stay at a value it seems so much smaller. but, we are a "bare bones" family....bed and shower..that's all we need. we don't spend all that money to spend time in the room! too much to do and see!! if you are staying at ASMo for those reasons (bed and shower), your family will be fine. my personal opinion is that you are NOT nuts for spending 10 nights there.....you are smart to save your money and spend it elsewhere!! my theory has always been to "expect the worst and hope for the best". we were not disappointed with our room and i don't think you will be either!! have a really fun trip and please let me know if u have any other questions.......

We are headed there one week from today:Pinkbounc

I wanted to stay at AKL but this is a special trip with just my middle child and she wanted to stay in the 101 Dalmations Bldg. Then I offered the Beach Club and she said no way...I want to stay at the Movies!!!!

Do they still have powdered soap???

How was the transportation? Did you share buses with the other resorts?

We can't wait!!

MNmom:earsgirl:

Thank you Bubba's Mom! Yes, we decided to spend our money elsewhere. We have booked several character dinners, two nights at MNSSHP and ample money for souveneirs. As I am just about to pay off my package today and am almost in cardiac arrest at the amount, I am glad we are doing value! One question, did you use the laundry and if so how was it? Thanks again!

MNmom--- i didn't see powdered soap...except for laundry soap in the gift shop.....ironically, near the powdered donuts....:confused3 the transportation was really good....got the 2nd bus in the morning (could have made the first, but, that's another story). didn't wait long for bus.....altho, something must've happened after MK closed....waited forever for busses. there were 3 busses for the other AS resorts to our 1....whenever a bus stopped for ASMo, there was clapping and cheering....kinda funny, but not at the time. we didn't share with other resorts coming back from closing, but going to DTD (mid afternoon), we picked people up from ASMu and TLagoon. i think when it's off peak time, they consolidate stops....but, at opening and closing times, they use one bus per resort. hope this helps....have a really fun time!!

we did not use the laundry (only there 2 days before heading to family's house for 10 days--Disney was a small detour!) but, i walked past it each day and saw others using it. it was near the kiddie pool outside and there seemed like ample machines. if u forget laundry soap, they sell it in the gift shop (in the back corner near refrigerated beverages). i never saw it busy either, but like i said, we were only there 2 days. ::MickeyMo

can you tell me what the free refill cups looked like? I have last years and if they are the same I want to use them again. Don't flame me anyone just trying to save money. I don't need duplicates plus I wasted money buying them last year.

We are hooked on the All Stars and are staying at Pop Century for the first time in September. We have only stayed at a moderate once. What we figure is we can add extra trips or stay longer days for the money we save by staying at All Stars so it is well worth it to us.::MickeyMo

What building did you stay in? I requested either TS or Dalmatians for our trip. My kids won't understand the other ones, but if we don't get our requests, oh well!!!

Glad you had a great trip!!!

Glad you enjoyed yourself. We love ASMo. DH, 2 DS (7 & 9) and myself will be there for 12 nights in April. Sooooo excited. This will be our 3rd stay there.

We have always had a great time and are planning on doing so again. Although this time we will not be next to Buzz & Woody, we are doing preferred (Fantasia) "AAA" discount certainly helped.

Amy&Dan -- I of course always end up in the laundry room at least once. Doing small loads was better. Dryer dried very hot, a couple shirts with nylon stuff on it got scorched.

bubba's mom -- I agree that there will be room for a sleeping bag. We have always slid the bed over to the wall (yes, I know we are not suppose to) so the youngest didn't fall out (yes, I know we could get a railing, just never did) So there's extra room in between the beds if needed and by the window too. We always moved it back in the am. hehe!!

jasminesmommy -- We have our cups from 2000 & 2003 (we forget 2000's in 2003) and they are going with us. On both of our previous trips we saw others using past ones. We asked at the foodcourt and we were told we could.

Smiles!! :sunny:

all i remember about the cups was that they were really large and if you filled it with soda (or whatever) it must have been a lot of trips to the bathroom.... like i mentioned, we weren't there long enuf to warrant buying one, but as "alwaysmom" said, take them and use them....if you fill them and pay for it, what are they going to say?? no? really now.......... i say, go for it!! (sorry couldn't be more help)

i had requested buzz, becuz we thought (even AAA girl!) it was preferred building....when we arrived, we were told there was a fantasia room available (preferred--since it was already paid for) we took it. like i said, all we need is a bed and shower. since we didn't spend much time in the room, it really didn't matter what we had......but, we were glad to have a preferred bldg....close to bus stops! ds fell asleep on the bus ride home in dh lap!! he carried him all the way to the room (thank goodness it was close!!) you have to realize ds is 5 1/2 and about 50lbs! my poor dh!! (btw, ds walked the entire day at MK.....8am-10:30pm!!....what a kid!) anyway, back to the room..... you should be able to get at least one of the buildings you want......if you have requested one (or both) buildings, they seem to try to accomodate you!!
