Just returned from the All Star Sports last night.
Was there for 8 days 7 nights FTP.
Any one have any questions?

Heres what I can say...
ratings are 1-5...1 being bad...5 being great..

Speed/friendliness of service at check in... rate 5 WOW!!

Rooms are small...but hey, your not staying there for the rooms, your there for the parks... rate 3

Stayed in room 1109 at Surfs up...Very close to pool and food court, but loud as it is right next to pool. If we would have been on other side, I would have given a 4. Rate 3

Mousekeeping was below average. No special things done with our room or 5 yr old sons toys, etc. Did bring hair dryer for wife. 2nd to last night son got sick in the bathroom. (too much chocoloate and hot dogs) Wife cleaned it up. Called mousekeeping for more towels. Showed up 1 hr later. We gave them the "used towels" in a bag. Mousekeeper just rolled her eyes. She didnt do any work but seemed put out. Rate 2

Food selection/quality at the food court is great...Try the steak/mushroom noodles. Price is decent for all things. Be sure to get the mugs for free refills... rate 5

Gift Shop selection. Lots of everything.... rate 5

For a full trip report, please see my post in the trip report selection.

How was the transportation? Did you have to share with the other AS?

Welcome Back, and thanks for the report!!:D

Transportation as ok. Usually not more than a 10 min wait. Gets crowded sometimes. Since we were at Sports, that was the first pickup. Yes on alot of trips we went to Music then Movies. Not all the time though. It worked out ok though for the most part.

I have managed to get good AP rates for AS Sports in Dec - do you think Hoops or Touchdown would be the best location?

Thanks for your help! ;)

Hi Jeff,

Just wondering what were the walking distances like within the resort? We've never stayed at one of the AS resorts before, but having stayed at PO riverside (old DL) and WL, I know walking distances to transportation and the food court can be long. Do you have a comparison to these?

Thanks

I can tell you that I have stayed at Sports, and depending on your location.. you can walk to the McDonalds across the street..

The CM lot for Sports is next to the McD's.. so the CM's cross the street all the time. If you have a car, its a super quick drive.

Touchdown is one of our favorite buildings.. stayed in all of them except Baseball.

How are the rooms and atmosphere?
Seems like I read somewhere that sports was pretty run down compared to the other all stars.
Is it fresh painted and clean?

Hello,

Well, this was the first time I stayed on property.

AS Sports was in pretty good shape I would say. Granted it not an Embassy Suites, Hilton or Hyatt. I pretty much compare it to a Motel 6, but with that wonderful Disney Flare......Its a clean room with a decent bathroom. It is small though.
The room was in good shape. No torn wallpaper boarder, carpets were clean. If your at the parks all day long, all you want to do is crash anyways right.

As far as places to be on the resort, if you can get the backside of Surfs Up, you have a PRIME location. Our room faced the pool on the first level. I didnt have any problems sleeping, but my wife had some. Football is very close to the pool/food court also. Baseball has its own pool, but its a little small. I didnt venture past those so I can speak for the others. Transportation is right there too. Nice thing about being at Sports is that it is the first stop. You get the seats when they go over to Music and Movies. Although, first thing in the morning, it was direct service to the parks. At night, they double up the Sports/Music busses. That gets crowded and it sucks. But, make the most of it. Get your DD or DS to start whinning and you might get a seat...j/k...didnt really do that, but thought about it.

Like the previous poster said, there is a McDonalds within about 400yrds of the All Star Sports. It is within walking distance from surfs up/football area. You might have a long trek ahead of you if your in baseball/basketball or any of the others. Food court is very good. I liked it alot and you can customize your orders and they dont screw it up. The only time I ate McDonalds was when I was at Downtown Disney.

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, just let me know.

Already having Disney Withdrawals. :(
Im ready to go back. Wanted to find a job down there. Tired of working for an airline. Want to do something that brings a smile to peoples faces...
