LOVED IT!!! For our first ever stay on property, we couldnt have asked for a better hotel!! Our favorite part was actually coming back to the room at night. See, the first night that we were in the parks and came back, the TV was on. My husband and I looked at each other and just put it off to the fact that housekeeping must have left it on. No big deal. Well when we walked into the room we looked and there on the corner of my sons bed were Tigger and Lumpy (Heffalump) with the control and they were laying there watching tv. It was the cutest site ever. From that night on we couldnt wait to see how they were set up! If someone will tell me how to post a picture, I will show you!!

Wow :Pinkbounc It sounds like you had a very magical trip!! I have no idea how to post the pictures, but I can't wait to see them once you do! We will be staying at All Stars Movies, in July 06 ........9 months and 2 weeks.....but who's counting... :teeth: I can't wait!!

So glad to hear. I loved ASMovies. I am actually going to miss it this trip! I have already promised my dd that we can go visit the Little Doggie in the Dalmations courtyard. Long story, but I went moderate for upcoming trip for dh and now dh is soon to be ex-dh and not going! I guess I could switch, but I booked through Best Rate and don't want the hassle. Anywho, so glad you loved ASMovies. Aren't the mousekeepers great? They did little things like that everyday when we were there. THAT'S where the magic happens - in the places you don't expect.

So glad you loved your stay at ASMO. We've been to several of the resorts, from value to deluxe and have loved almost all of them. The deluxe resorts are great for their extra amenities, but the values have wonderful food courts and great theming.

We'll be in WDW from 10/1-10/5. It will be the first time we've stayed at ASMO in several years. We can't wait! :Pinkbounc

:earsgirl: We have ressies 12/10-12/16. We being myself, daughter and 2 year old granddaughter, her 1st visit she will remember. What building were you in and any suggestions for her first real visit? :thewave:

We've stayed in the Fantasia section everytime we've been. They are now the preferred buildings and cost $10 more per night. They are right next to the main pool and right across from Cinema Hall where the food court, gift shop and bus stops are. Fantasia 5 is non-smoking, Fantasia 8 is smoking.

Parts of the Dalmatian building are also very close to the main building.

We came back one time to have the TV on and the stuffed dog watching with remote in hand (paw! :paw: ) While it was really cute, I was somewhat put off by it. It seemed really wasteful to have the TV going all day. At home we are very mindful of turning off unused applicances, light, etc. Anyone else think of it this way?

We stayed in the Fantasia Building (#5). I definately recommend taking an autograph book and get a picture of her with all of the characters that she meets. They are great! I also recommend character meals! (Use the dining plan if you dont have it already!!)

Glad to hear a positive review about ASMO! We are hoping to return to WDW in May 06. I would love to stay there so my 5 yr old DS could experience the resort. Keeping my fingers crossed :flower: The trip depends on a good year end bonus for my DH

I would love to see the picture. Fisrt you need to g oto www.photobucket.com and get a free account, then upload the picture into your account. Then, once it is uploaded, theyere will be a direntlink to that photo, where you can post the picture directly into this thread. :flower:

Hi: Can you control the airconditioning temp's in the movies room.

Also did you find the room in top condition or are they getting worn looking, how about the bed was it comfortable?

Deb.

Does anyone know what to do if you have 5 people and want to stay at ALMO? I originally was gonna take just my 5 yr old dd and stay at CSR, but now I'm thinking about the whole family. We will have to stay at All Stars movie, cause of cost. It will be me, DH, DD 5, DD 3, and DD 2. Do we have to book 2 rooms or could we ask for a rollaway crib?

I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. We will be there in Dec and I can't wait i think the kids will really enjoy it.

Yes, we do reuse our bath towels, both on vacation and at home. :rolleyes1 At DVC towels are only replaced every 3-4 days. Since we'll have a washer for the coming trip I may wash them after a day or 2.

Your DD 2 is still considered an infant, and you will be allowed to stay in one room, just ask for a pack n play crib. Be forewarned it will be a tight squeeze :flower:

I'm in the process of planning my trip and want to know exactly where the All Strar Movie Resort is located! Is it located within the Animal Kingdom Park? :confused3 I can't find it on any maps. :wave2:

I'm staying at athe ASMO in November. There is a great, very informative link on here to the resort and it has both a map and pictures. One of the next few posters is sure to put the link here. :earsgirl:

Yes, it is located near AK.Here a map of the overview of Disney property.
The All Star resorts are directly southof Blizzard beach.
they are just southeast of AK and southwest of MGM.

Here is the map of All Movies.

The Fantasia Buildings are the preferred buildings.
The All Star Movie Fantasia pool has Mickey.
It is a great place to stay .
Preschoolers love it.
It is like being in the middle of a Disney Movie Fantasyland.
All Star Movies has pop up fountains now also.
The buses are wonderful.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POPbuses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

Op I am happy you enjoyed your stay at ASMo.
I really enjoy watching young childrenhaving so much fun at the All Stars.

I am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theming is pure Disney. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!

We stayed at ASMO last March and loved it. There wasn't anything we didn't like about it. Our room was in great condition and our mousekeeping was excellent. Beds were comfortable and I notice when they aren't. I liked the food court and the bus transportation was timely and not crowded.

We decided on an impromptu MNSSHP trip for next month and we're going back there. I usually like to try new places, but for the money we stuck with Movies.

My kids are 2 and 4 and they loved staying the Toy Story Section. Every morning we would walk out our door and there was Buzz. They have never seen 101 Dalmations, so I don't think they would like that section as much. I found Toy Story section to be convenient to the playground, food court and great for small kids.
