Just back from AKL WONDERFUL time!

What an AMAZING room location we had. Room 2565. We were right with the baby giraffe!!! This guy was ADORABLE!!! The first room that we were checked in to it was very hard for me to see the animals because of my vision problems. They were all the way in the back of the Savannah and the big Arusha rock was most of our view. Was willing to look at the positive side but we went to the front desk and expressed our concerns politely. And we got the most amazing room EVER! Thank you Steven at AKL!!!

We booked our next trip while we were there at AKL with this AMAZING BOUNCEBACK rate!!! First code that I ever found out about that actually WORKED! We were going to go the Contemporary in Jan but decided I would try and tweek my internship schedule a bit for a Friday and Saturday in early Dec. We just decided we had to see the castle lite up again and couldn't pass up this amazing rate.

It was right in the room when we got there. On a big piece of clock hard paper that had all the dates highlighted in green. 30% percent off Deluxe Resorts and other resorts as well I'm sure. Don't think it would help if I posted the code because they check and make sure you are staying on property when you call. Dates start in August and end in Dec.

I thought they had construction going on at AKL, certain sections at a time I remember seeing that on a web site late last year.

Sounds like you had a wonderful stay. As much as you hate for it to end, at least you have next time to look forward to

I think it's the new DVC that's under construction now, not the regular AKL hotel.

The construction INSIDE the hotel, stemming from DVC conversion, has been complete for about 5 or 6 months, now.

The only construction still ongoing is the building of the new DVC building (Kidani village), across the Sunset Savanna from the hotel part of the Lodge (Jambo House).

Bounce Back is a deal they give people currently staying at disney if you book while your still there... Usually there 20-30% resort deals... There usually not a bad deal as well

So happy to hear good things about the AKL - I was looking at pictures of the Contemporary yesterday (our favorite deluxe) and got homesick and wondered if I was making a mistake in trying the AKL - sounds to me like I didn't!
