Just Back from AKL-- Any questions?

1 question)Is there a problem with the Pool? We are going in two weeks and since we are getting in later afternoon, we thought we would maybe ck-out the pool. Is the pool ok? The pool is heated? We stayed at Beach Club last year and it was heated so I am assuming that AKL pool is heated also?
Thanks
Counting :wizard: down the days!!!!!

I just called actually last night to find out they had a gym, and it's for 45 dollars for the entire time i'm going to be there. And considering i'll be there for 8 nights (almost 9 full days), to pay about 5 dollars per day for a gym membership is excellent.

I really cannot wait, the last time i was at disneyworld i barely even got to see the parks, and this time i'm staying at (from what i hear) one of the best hotels!

One last question. Are the suites on the concierge level? I'm going with my friend's family, and they've decided to rent out a 2 bedroom suite. I've never been on a concierge level before...

Are you saying that you have to pay to use the gym at AKL? I'm sorry, but I'm not paying disney $45 on top of the $3200 that I am already paying them to have the use of the gym. I thought use of the gym was one of the perks to staying at a deluxe?? :earseek:

Hmmm... I think you got some incorrect information. It's true that it used to be policy that Disney charged for use of their fitness centers, but that policy changed for those people who are staying at the resort- it's now free of charge as long as you are staying at AKL.

Hope this helps!

Johnny- I did see a lot of animals from my balcony. All rooms no matter where you are have balconies (so far as I could tell). On the Backstage Safari tour at AKL, I learned that AKL does things a little differently than the theme park in that they call their animals in for just two hours a day, usually in the afternoon when most guests are in the park (on Sunset this seemed to be noon-2pm). Mornings and evenings had lots of animals out. Mornings were very active since they came around to put food out at that time.

kparc- The storytelling took place at 7:30pm during my stay. I'm not sure if they state it is just for resort guests or not, but there is nothing in the papers that I was given that says they would be checking resort IDs or anything. I think you should be fine. As the storytelling takes place in the late evening, I might get there a little early so you can walk the grounds and check out the whole resort before it gets dark.

rabx- I didn't use the clothesline, but I seem to remember one being in my room (I think all WDW resorts have these now). Your quite welcome-- just my way of giving back to the people who gave me such great information before my trip.

Disney Fans- the pool is indeed heated. I overheard some people saying they felt it was cold, but I think that's a personal preference thing. (I personally dislike bathwater warm pools... blaeh.)

boucheresq- I did take pics of the room, but I'm having trouble with my firewire connection. I will try to get them posted as soon as I can.

BTW- the room I stayed in (and I believe at all deluxes now) had a small coffee maker with coffee and a small refrigerator in the room. This was GREAT! A wonderful place to chill bottled water, keep leftovers from Mara, etc, etc.
