Unfortunately it was only Majorca not Florida
.
Still had a pretty good trip and it was nice to show Jana a little more of Europe. Had a right result on the accommodation ( it was a allocate on arrival) got a really nice hotel in Alcudia and even better result we were given a two bedroom suite ( so Jana had her own dressing room). These were on the corner of the building so the balcony was MASSIVE, going round the two sides. Not much to report, we lazed around in the sun, had a couple of day trips ( one to a market so Jana could haggle with the natives, didn't happen
LOL) best trip though was to the Caves of Drach (Dragon Caves) which houses Europes largest underwater lake, we wandered through the 500 meters or so of stalegmites and tites then were treated to a classical music and lights show in the caves. This was REALLY well done with the musicians coming down on rowboats with lights (like the electromagic parade) while everything else was pitchblack. Was quite a moving experience ( although not as moving as the 179 step climb back out of the caves LOL). We also had a stop at one of the major pearl factories on Majorca, which by coincidence was where Jana's ex bought a necklace for her to commemorate her son's birth 8 years ago. We only missed the exact day by 2 days as Gus's birthday was the Friday and we visited on the Wednesday, ALL TOGETHER NOW ( you know the music
) it's a small world after all.............. .
Jana managed to win us a week's accommodation in a timeshare presentation
, but unfortunately it has to be taken in Europe
, might use it to go to Italy next year if Jana comes here again for the summer
. Don't think the sales person was too happy with my fairly in depth knowledge of how a points based timeshare system works. She was even less happy when I told her that I owned on DVC ( they were selling GVC, which is owned by Sunterra) so I didn't need any extra vacation coverage. Nothing against their product, I'm sure it offers something valuable to people looking for thet type of accommodation, but IMHO it's not as good as DVC is for my own needs.
I think Jana found the work ethic in the service industries a little difficult to come to terms with, it ain't the US of A honey
ROFLMAO
