We just returned yesterday from a week at WDW and had some great meals. Everyone has been so helpful answering my questions so I'm happy to return the favor and answer any questions that people may have. We did 1 night platinum dining and 6 nights deluxe dining and here is where we ate:

CRT lunch
tusker House breakfast
tutto Italia lunch
Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner
Chef's De France dinner
Cape May Cafe breakfast
V&A's dinner
spirit of Aloha dinner show
Beach Club private dining breakfast and dinner

We also did various couture meals and LOTS of great snacks. I would say overall the food and service were great. Any questions?

My wife and I are going for Christmas this year, and we have an ADR for the Goofy character breakfast at Cape May. We don't have any kids, and so we had never really thought about doing character meals before, but we also figured that it was one more Disney experience to add to our "Been there, done that" list! Do you think two adults (and we are committed Disney dorks, to be sure) w/ no kiddoes would feel out of place there, or is it something that anyone can enjoy?

Thanks in advance! Hope you enjoyed your trip!

Cape May is a nice character meal and I think you will enjoy it even with no kids. We had older kids and the characters interacted with them and my husband. This meal is quieter than many of the other character meals. It is definitely a hidden gem. Enjoy and watch out for that Donald. He sneaks up on you when you aren't looking. :rotfl2:

Just added Yachstman onto our ADR list on the advice of a friend...what did you order and what do you think of the place? TIA:goodvibes

Yachtsman has always one of my favorite places. This time I ordered the cheese plate appetizer, New York strip with the Mac and cheese side dish. Steak was cooked well and everything else was fresh. My DD (10) ordered the lobster bisque and had them double up on the scollop appetizer for her entree. We also had two people in our party order the fillet and one order the braised beef ravioli and they all seemed to enjoy their food. We were so full from the meal that we didn't order dessert. You won't go wrong with this place. Enjoy!!!

OOooooh, you gotta tell me about V&A!! i've been dying to eat there! How many courses did you have? Was it as good as everyone says? :hyper:

Yes V&A's is every good as they say and a wonderful date night experience. We were in the main dining room and we had six courses and I can't find any fault in any of them. I did the wine pairing and although it is not included, it is worth the price. We did not order any of the extras, ilk caviar or Kobe beef, but what we had was more than fine. I enjoyed the duck and my pork entree was cooked perfectly. Service was exceptional without hovering too much so we could spend some time alone. Bottom line if you can afford it, do it you will be happy you did.

Cool! Sounds like fun, and we'll have to watch for ol' Donald! Thanks for the report! (PS- We stayed at the CR two years ago, and we could here the fracas at Chef Mickey's every morning at 7:00. So a quiet character experience sounds great!)

Is it really as bad as they say it is? I have a ressie in Dec. and I am not sure if I should keep it because of all of the horrible reviews.

I honestly can't remember if the gnocchi was on the Tutto Italia lunch menu since nobody in our party ordered it.

Dh and I really enjoyed chef's de France. I had the fillet and he had a seafood dish in a broth. It was busy so it was pretty loud in there since the tables are so close together.

As far as CRT lunch goes, my family really enjoyed themselves, partly because we. Had such a great server. He really treated my girls like princesses even though they are older (10, 15, 15). My DD (10) really enjoyed the fish of the day and the older girls liked the chicken dish. My pork dish was only ok, but the pork was juicy. The menu on AllEars in outdated so beware of that. Character interaction was quick but my girls didn't seem to matter since they are older and only wanted pictures with the princesses anyway. They were just happy to see 5 princesses in an hour. There were two things about this meal that did annoy me but the rest of my party didn't seem to mind. First, it seemed to take forever for the girls to get their picture with Cindy. We checked in on time but it seemed to take 15 to 20 minutes longer to get to our table. My (10) DD loves characters so I do a lot of character meet and greets and I like to do a few character meals to avoid having to stand in long lines and that unfortunately did not happen here. Secondly, they seemed to rush you through your meal. I had barely gotten my appetizer on my plate when the entrees showed up and the dessert showed up seconds after they picked up the entrees. Still despite those things our meal wasn't ruined and my girls left happy, carrying there wands, swords, wishing stars and pictures so, That is all that matters to me.

Glad to hear CRT lunch is still worthwhile. I've been concerned lately!! It does seem I can't find anything good about taht pork dish though!! I'll be avoiding that one.

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting. I do have a question regarding the 'chicken' dish at CRT LUNCH. Can you remember what type of chicken dish it was? I ask because some people are reporting that they only serve chicken on the adult menu during dinner.

Thanks!:goodvibes

They say it is fried chicken but it looked more like a baked or rotisserie chicken with Mac and cheese. It was on the adult menu. The girls seemed to like it so it ust have been pretty good because my GdD's friend is picky and doesn't eat much.

Yay! Chicken on the CRT lunch menu. I wonder why the 9/11-updated DIS menu doesn't list it? Maybe the menu changed for a 2ND TIME in 9/11? Oh well, I'm just happy to hear of it! Thanks!
