Just back from 9 nights at the Poly!

We had a great time! I'm so sad to be home.

We took the 6 am flight out of Illinois and arrived at the Poly at 11 am. We used Tiffany Town car, they were great. There was no line at check in, the cm was great and our room was ready. We stayed in Atearoa (ok, I don't know if I spelled that right, lol) Now, this was not a location I would have chosen before hand, but we loved it. I was close to the great ceremonial house, we had a nice garden view off the balcony and a view of the monorail. It was also close to the boat dock and pool. I was a bit of a walk to the TTC to go to Epcot but that was fine. When it was raining we just took the monorail. The resort was nice and clean. Mousekeeping was so-so not great, not horrible.

I'm sad to be home today, I miss Disney already! At least we have our next trip booked already! I'll be doing a full dining report with pics in the next few days.

Did you watch Wishes from the beach? If so, how was the music? Easy to hear?

We are real happy to hear nothing but good about the Poly, this is our first vacation in 3 years and these boards really help out. We plan on being at the Poly on Fri and are staying for 7 days (concierge of course) and will post pictures as well.

I booked the bounceback for the Contemporary. I'm not sure if we are actually going to stay there or not. I might switch to POR. I don't know if free dining will be as great of a deal next year since there are some changes to the plan. I loved the Poly and would love to stay there again. We really want to try every resort on Disney property, lol.

We did watch wishes from the beach by the pool once, from the pool area once and from the walkway by the boat dock several times. The music was really, really hard to hear from all of those locations. I'm not sure if it was because people were talking too loud or it the music was just low. It was a great view regardless. Loved it!

Ok, this would be one of my only complaints about the Poly. The great dining and luau bring in tons of extra people. One night we came back to the hotel as people were arriving for the luau and it was hard to get in the door from the monorail (one side is being renovated so only one door was working) then when we got down to the hall by capt. cooks it was hard to walk through. Not enough of a problem to not stay there again, just a tad annoying.
