So, we just returned from an amazing vacation. We stayed at WL and ate our way around the the parks and other resorts. DD9 has celiac and this was her first trip to WDW since being diagnosed. She only eats GF and is able to eat everything else. Please feel free to ask any questions.

We ate at:

Whispering Canyon
Liberty Tree Tavern
Roaring Forks (every morning!)
Beaches and Cream
La Hacienda
Comubia Harbor House
Mama Melrose
Sunshine Seasons
Yak & Yeti
50's Prime Time
1900 Park Fair

Food was amazing. Highlights were Whispering Canyon (Skillet with GF cornbread!), 50's Prime Time (fried chicken), Yak & Yeti (chicken fried rice), and Roaring Forks (Mickey Waffles, hash browns, and bacon EVERY day!)

A BIG mistake was made at LTT but we caught it (pretty obvious when your GF platter has the meat stacke on top of stuffing!).

Happy to give any more info if you need it.

Awesome! Any good meat-free meals?

We LOVE La Hacienda!! :goodvibes

Curious about your daughter's experiences at Sunshine Seasons and Columbia Harbour House. Was it for dinner or lunch? Was there a decent variety of GF options. Did your daughter have a chance to enjoy any gluten free deserts after a meal? Good options for GF that would appeal to kids? Thank-you!!

Susan, Both places were great! At Columbia Harbor we had lunch there 3 times she liked it so much. She got the GF chicken tenders and french fries. Not very exotic but she thought they were the best chicen tenders she has ever had so she got them every time. We did not get dessert because there are so many great GF desserts to get around the park (she loved the Mickey Ice Cream bars!). As a plus for the adults, Columbia Harbor House has some really yummy choices: a hummus sandwich with brocoli slaw on whole grain bread, griled salmon, and yummy fried shrimp that my other daughter loved...obviously these are not GF but we were happy to eat there 3 times because of these options. They also serve GF mac&cheese.

Sunshine Seasons was even better. They have a TON of choices. We ate their twice. Both times DD got rotisserie chicken with yellow rice and black beans. The entire grill station there is GF so she had a lot of choices. The roast chicken was delicious. There is a GF dessert section that she enjoyed as well. Really good caramel corn, gummy bears, and GF cookies and brownies. The brownies are realy good. I think they can also make burgers on GF buns and chicken tenders and the usual but the grill section was more interesting.

Hope this helps. I love being able to give a little info back after all I have learned here. :cool1:

I actually don't believe that the allergy chicken tenders are available at Sunshine Seasons. I hear they're available at the Electric Umbrella though we've never checked since we really enjoy the chicken and the seared tuna (both gluten free as well as many other things free) at Sunshine Seasons, not to mention the many dessert options (including Tofutti ice cream and Enjoy Life chocolate bars in addition to the items mentioned by daraweb.

Thanks for the reviews!!

THANK You so much for posting this! We are staying at WL in a few weeks with a 6yo who is gluten free. I've been so worried about finding things for him to eat-particularly at WL.
Does Roaring Fork have other gluten free options for lunch/dinner such as pizza, chicken tenders, fries or anything else that you may remember?
This is our first trip with our kiddo and we never go out to eat at home because no place has kid friendly gluten free options! Hoping Disney comes through for us!
Did you do the dining plan? Right now I have Garden Grocer delivering things to the room and plan to bring his bread from home as well as gluten free snack bars etc.....

Don't forget the desserts available at Babycakes NYC in DTD. Also, it is my understanding that now Whole Foods Market will deliver.

My husband LOVES the gluten free chicken tenders at Columbia Harbor House. We have a condo nearby and he will sometimes go over to MK just for them!

We did not do the dining plan, but I think it might be a good idea. We took advantage of being somewhere where DD could eat and order whatever she wanted and I did not have to cook or carry around ANY food. We didn't buy any groceries...in fact we stayed in a regular room.

WL was amazing! Roaring Forks had tons of GF options. pizza, mac and cheese, chicken tenders, burgers on GF rolls...

Whispering Canyons was one of her favorite meals (we actually ended up eating there 2x)...ribs, GF corn bread, roasted chicken, basically she could have everything there except the cole slaw and the regular cornbread.

Any other questions feel free to ask!

THANK YOU! You have eased my worry and I so appreciate it!!! phew!

Did you find any gluten free options at Animal Kingdom? we may be there around the dinner hour so I am trying to plan ahead.

so thankful to hear about Roaring Forks and Whispering Canyon-great news!

We ate at Yak & Yeti at AK and had a wonderful experience! They made DD a yummy fried rice with chicken...she LOVED it!

Disboards newbie here, and I have a question. Will be in the world on the 24th
of May with DD, GS Mason and GS Jordan. And we will be doing the GF options.
Would any one know if chef mickey's has GF options for breakfast? if so, can you kindly list some. Much appreciation:)

We had an awesome gf experience at Chef Mickey's, but that was over a year ago. It was one of my favorite breakfasts. The chef was wonderfully accommodating, he took me around the buffet and then brought out all of my food from back to eliminate cross contamination. There were eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffles, fruit and other things I can't recall.

In addition to the items listed above I believe they also had a gluten free donut (this was before Babycakes) that my husband loved. There will be plenty of choices.

What were the GF options at Beaches & Cream and 1900 Park Fair? Thank you!!

AT Beaches and cream she had a burger on a GF roll...she loved it and thought the burger was amazing. I can't remember if she had french fries. For dessert she had ice cream that they got from a new container that hadn't been contaminated.

She ate a ton at 1900 Parl Fair. She had mickie waffles, bacon, a ton of fruit, eggs, and I think canadian bacon or ham.

They were great at both places.

I'd love to hear more about 50s prime time!
Thanks for the review...we've been before, but things change and we haven't eaten everywhere (yet). LOL
