We just returned from a 7 night stay at the Hawthorne Suites on Palm Parkway in Lake Buena Vista, here's a short review.
Location is very close to Crossroads and Downtown Disney. It is not within walking distance, but, a very short drive, about 5 minutes.
Hotel grounds and lobby are very nice and clean.
Room was big, bedroom area has 2 doors one to the bathroom and one to the living room. Bedroom has 2 queen beds and a space for pack and play for baby. The bedroom had a t.v., desk, closet, some drawers, not alot, iron and ironing board.
The bathroom was very large but, also lacking space to put things. The bathroom also has a door to the living area.
The living room area had a t.v. enclosed in a cabinet with some drawers, coffee table, end table, sofa and chair.
There is also a small dining table with 4 chairs, seperating the living room to the kithchen.
The kitchen had alot of cabinets, sink, full size fridge, dishwasher, dishes, utensils, microwave, 2 burner stove,
coffee pot. The kitchen was tiled and the carpeting started in the eating area and living room.
The air conditioning was set with a default, which we didn't realize to one of the last days, default was set at 58 degrees, so, in the middle of the night had to go and turn it off.
The pool was small but adequate, hot tub, chairs, towels, basketball courts also in this area.
The breakfast buffett consisted of coffee, juice, milk, tea, toast, english muffins, 3 kinds of cereal, oatmeal, douhnuts or muffins, eggs of some kind, sausage, potatoes, fruit, some days had waffles.
Evening cocktail hour, we only made it 1 time, had beer and wine and some snacks, Wednesday nights they had hot dogs and hamburgers.
I booked the hotel thru Hotel Kingdom, my rate was
$99.00 for one night and $79.00 for the remaining nights. There was a slight mixup at checkin with the rate, but, I showed front desk my confirmation from Hotel Kingdom, and she adjusted it with no problem.
If someone is looking for a clean suite hotel, for less money than the HIFS, I would try it out. All the hotels in that are look nice, Homewood Suites, Sierra Suites are the ones I can remember.
