Just back from 5 Night Magic

No, I never saw that happen either.

I did see some of the food options on deck 9 were closed early.
The pizza place closed from 6:30- 9pm
Then re opened 9 to midnight nightly.
I don't know if that is a normal thing they always did.
Thanks, that’s good to hear. We sail on January 8th, Miami to Western Caribbean.

And yes, the pizza place closing in the evening and then reopening at 9 has been common on many (perhaps all) of our 20 DCL cruises, on all four ships.

Apparently the woman in front of us was having issues with the internet and this man must have been new at doing this so there was some confusion. Of course, the woman was getting snippy with this guy that she wanted to go eat her lunch and he needed to fix it fast. I felt so bad for him. She is looking up at other people waiting saying "I can't understand what he is saying, can you?"
It was her tone, was just so unnecessary. You just walked onto a ship for vacation and you're acting like this already? Just take a breath and give the man a minute, it wasn't his fault you phone wasn't working.

:( It breaks my heart to hear this. So rude…

We had this situation on night two, strangest thing have ever experienced on DCL.

We were watching tv and we hear a scraping noise outside the door in the hallway, weird but it stopped within a minute or two. Turned off TV about 11pm all of the sudden we hear a machine outside the door loud unbelievable sound that time of night. We think must be a leak they're cleaning up. My husband opens the door and the hallway carpet is gone and the are using a machine to pick up/scrap up the padding remnants. Its 11pm at night. Of course we didn't know this or what was going on. So I call guest services. I waited a few minutes because I am sure I'm not the only one calling. When they answered I tell her the issue and she apologized. She says but this was planned and they can't stop working now they have to finish. I said you planned this at 11pm? I couldn't believe that they would plan this at this time of night. We didn't have kids with us on the cruise but I would have been furious if they woke up a young kid. I told her , " I have no words that this would be planned at this time of night."
Honestly, they should have delayed our boarding to do it then. Whoever thought this was a good idea needs some training.
They were very apologetic about it. It lasted about 30 minutes total, but we were then awake until after 1am. Imagine a kid or baby.
They called again the next day to apologize and sent a few things to the room the next day and an onboard credit as a "gesture of good will."
I thanked her said it wasn't necessary but we appreciate it. I told her that I really hoped they would find a different time to do that on other decks. As a mother and grandmother that is a nightmare for a parent.
On a Disney Cruise 90% of people are in their cabins at 11pm.

We were on the 11/8 sailing and it was Movies in the WD theatre the First night, Twice Charmed night 2, Tangled Night 3, Eternals (Movie) night 4, Disney Dreams night 5. Obviously the schedule is subject to change.
A bit envious (but glad) that all of these shows were available for you. I sailed the Magic last month and only Dreams was available. No Tangled or Twice Charmed. That was a bummer.

I find it hard to believe this was truly planned. Perhaps someone who tested positve had vomited and they felt that replacing the carpet was the only safe option to prevent others from becoming ill. Carpet cleaners can only do so much and they can't bleach the carpets. Who knows, this is just a guess.
There are plenty of times on a cruise where many guests are off the ship and while it could wake up a napping baby, I would think noon/lunchtime on a day in port would be the safest time as far as disturbing guests.

You could be on to something for sure. It was the oddest thing in the world.

I read your trip report and expected only Dreams on our sailing. I was pleasantly surprised to see Tangled and Twice Charmed. Hopefully next time for you!

They had a great guitar player in The Promenade every night for several shows. His name was Keith he was from India, he was wonderful, beautiful voice. We went to several of his shows throughout the cruise.
There were two female piano players as well, Becca and Titi (I think).
Becca was very good, we saw her one night in Keys.
We heard Titi (I think) playing in the atrium.
BUT Keith OMG , he was so good and friendly. He interacted with everyone so much.
He said he has a contract until February on The Magic.
Don't miss him!
Happy to read this! We are on the Magic in January, and look forward to hearing Keith!

You will love him! He just had fun with everyone and sang beautifully.
The first night there were just a couple people there, by the end of the cruise, he had quite the audience.

Hi. On the last night of your sailing was it the See You Real Soon menu at the MDRs or did each restaurant serve their own signature menus?

It was the signature meal.
First night all the dining rooms served the same menu. Not sure what it was called.
Second night was signature to dining room
Third night was Pirate.
Fourth and fifth was signature menus.

Another question anyone whose sailed might be able to answer for me! What time is the first stage show if you’ve got second seating for dinner? Was just able to snag a 5pm mixology class for the day at sea but don’t want to miss any musicals!

Ours was 6PM each night for the first Show with the second dinner seating. 5PM Mixology should workout perfect! Mixology was in Keys (Deck 3 FWD) so Its just a flight of stairs between you and the theatre (deck 4 FWD). Just make sure to get to the theatre early if possible!

Hi. On the last night of your sailing was it the See You Real Soon menu at the MDRs or did each restaurant serve their own signature menus?

The See you real soon menu got switched to the first night instead of the last night and has a new name... it was like "Let the magic begin" or something if I remember right. Our rotation was RRLLA.
First night was the New menu/formerly See you real soon.
Second was the regular Rapunzel signature menu
Third night was pirate night menu (which the new additions were great. Try the Osso Bucco if you eat meat! It was one of the best dishes I ate the whole cruise)
Fourth night was French/Lumiere's normal menu
Final night was Animation Magic in Animators Palate.
