Illuminations Cruise - ( Fantastic !!)
3/13 MK (A.M.) Got to ship by 2:30 PM
3/14 - 3/16 Disney Wonder
Quick notes:
CM told me GF occupancy at 73% during 3/9 to 3/13
CM told me park attendance was 37,000 on 3/9
AK seemed packed to me on 3/10
CoP was closed as well as Timekeeper (Timekeeper signage removed (?))
Illuminations Cruise Captain told us futher cut backs on the way - ex. a babysitting service (?) at Boardwalk is being discontinued.
Paintbrushes are limited to 4 at TSI - you can request to keep the head of the line pass after you use it - it makes a great souvenir.
The see-saw rock and rock carousel have been removed from TSI since our last visit.
Longest posted wait time - 60 minutes for Test Track on 3/12 - FP all gone by 2:30 PM
Longest actual wait - 23 minutes for Body Wars on 3/12 - they only had two simulators on line most of the morning.
I thought Journey Into Imagination much improved since last visit in 2000
My three main observations:
The room we we assigned at GF ( Sago Cay 5235 ) had the absolute worst outside view possible of all the rooms at the GF that I was able to see. It had NO view- just the side of a tree by the marina. We had sent the fax 4 days ahead of time politely requesting a lagoon view, understanding it's a request, but it seemed ( based on the occupancy rate ) that they could of given us anything else and it would of had a better view. I suspect this is a room they have reserved for discounted deals/packages booked through those such as Travelocity. Buyer beware if such things are important to you.
Our Illuminations Captain also told us Disney has cut back on CM training in guest relations. If they have, I can certainly corroborate it - at least with Attraction Operators. We saw certain ones treat us and others - for no good reason- in very rude & patronizing ways that I had not experienced before in our many visits to WDW & DL.
I now agree with those who say skip the EE park of the day - just go very early to any other park. ( EXCEPT AT PEAK TIMES OF YEAR I.E. LAST WEEK OF DECEMBER) It seems like everyone nowadays staying on-site goes to the EE park of the day. Example - the kids had to go to the Tomorrowland Speedway - the wait was 30 minutes by 8:30 AM.
Overall - had a GREAT TIME !! Can't wait to do a 7 day cruise next time.
