Hi all!

I just got back from our 3 week trip to WDW. I have decided that an extended trip is the way to go for the future :) It was very nice and relaxing!

We stayed at VWL, OKW and BCV. I enjoyed them all very much. It was our first stay at VWL and BCV and I was not disappointed!

VWL we had a 1 bedroom overlooking the front covered walkway (corner room I think it was room 4014). It was a nice room close to the elevators w/a huge balcony :) The room condition was nice as I expect from DVC.

OKW we had a 1 bedroom lock-off (can't remember the number but I think it was 3329) for 6 days in building 33. It was a nice location as it was close to the bus stop (turtle pond). This room, however, was in serious need of renovation by my DVC standard. The appliances were extremely loud. And the carpet was in need of replacing. It was liveable though :)

The next room we had at OKW was a 3rd floor dedicated 2 Bedroom (2630). This room was beautiful! It had new appliances that were much quieter than the ones in the previous room. From this room I could see the high fireworks from the Pleasure Island, and the top of the Cirque tent!!! It was really nice :)

Our room at BCV was a dedicated 2 bedroom w/a Queen/Sleeper set up despite the fact that our reservation said dedicated Q/Q. Not the end of the world as the view was perfect!!! Room 202 was our number here. We had a corner room w/a view of the pool/canal/front entrance to BC. It was perfect! From our balcony here we could see the high fireworks at the MK which was a nice surprise!!! This room was in nice shape as I expect of DVC :)

News I picked up that may not be news at all here as I have been out of the loupe for a few weeks:

*They are having boats custom made to go from OKW to SSR to DTD that will hold 30 people.

*We are to receive in the near future a DVC merchandise cataloge of some sort :) I asked about a DVC light up necklace/pin that a guide at a kiosk was wearing last week. He said it just came out Monday, and that I can't get one yet. But we will be getting a cataloge by the end of the year w/merchandise in it including the necklace :)

We had a great trip despite the huge crowds the first 2 weeks of our trip.

Any questions? I will be happy to answer if I can :)

Kathy, thanks so much for the trip report, It sounds like you had a good time. I know some folks will be thrilled to hear about the new merchandise catalog. Thanks for all the info. Erin

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for the update! That is great news on the new boats and the catalog.

I wish we could get away for 3 weeks at a time. I'm glad you had a wonderful trip.

Can it reallyl be true! A catalog of DVC merchandise. Maybe we've finally reached "critical mass" in number so that we rate a catalog. (Now, how about a better ticket discount?)

Thanks so much for the info, Kathy. You must be adjusting back to the "real world"! :)

Oh, the catalog of DVC merchandise is SUCH good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you had a great trip!!!!!!

Do the new boats mean there wont be pontoons anymore? I will miss them!

WOW 3 weeks at WDW.
Did you ever feel Disneyed out?
As much as I love going on vacation, I start to miss home after 2 weeks.
Glad you had a good time.
How many people were in your party?

Thanks for the news tidbits. Three weeks vacation; sounds like heaven!:goodvibes

This was our first extended vacation to WDW. We have always just gone for a week, so it was a big change to our normal trip.

My husband had to go home after 11 days as he has to work, but the 2 kids and I stayed the next 10 w/o him. I homeschool the kids so we are able to vacation at our choosing. My Mom, brother and 2 nieces joined us after my husband left. All in all it was a nice trip. Long stay = VERY relaxed touring style = PERFECT trip to WDW :) I hope to always go for at least 2 weeks at a time now.

I never did tire of WDW or the parks the whole time. We were in a park everyday except for 1 day. I would have been there that day too, but we were visiting family in the area that day. Most days we were at least 7 hours in the parks.

We did MNSSHP 2 times. Once w/my husband and once w/the rest of the family. We had a blast (esp. on the 19th party w/my husband). We all wore costumes which added to the fun w/all the coments we received :)

I am not adjusting to the real world very well. It is cold and wet here, and I hate being cold LOL. I guess I will have to adjust though :(

I assumed the new boats would be replacing the pontoon boats, but I did not think to ask.

As far as the catalog goes, I am not sure how big it will be. It could just be a flyer, but he used the word catalog. So I am hoping for lots of new stuff to tempt me :)

Kathy,

I wish I could go for 3 weeks. Wow!!!!!

We were at the MNSSH party on 10/19. We saw some great costumes.

When we ate at LTT, we saw a family/group with a Oz theme with many characters in there. It was a lot of fun.

What did your family dress as?

We always go for 2 weeks and I've always said the only way to make that better would be to go longer. Sounds great to me. Now to only convience my boss I need 3 weeks off.:teeth:

What did your family dress as?

On the 19th party, I was a female Captain Jack Sparrow. My costume consisted of Suede Leather Boots which I made, pirate pants, shirt, vest, sash, coat, head scarf complete w/hair beads (all made by me) and a purchased leather belt to complete it. My son was a little Captain Jack Sparrow, and his costume had all the same as the adult Captain Jack Sparrow Costume with the exception of the suede leather boots. His boots were just made from vinyl. My daughter was Elizabeth Swan in a beautiful white dress she wore in a wedding earlier this year complete w/a necklace and curse coin.

The adult Captain Jack Sparrow costume I made was for my husband, and he looked great in it on Oct 14th. We got so many compliments on our costumes that night. In fact when we got on the bus at OKW everyone cheered LOL! My husband got pulled in to sing w/the pirates outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean. The singing pirate group recognized him 2 times as Captain Jack Sparrow and bowed to him to show their respect. Many people asked for photos of either him or our family. It was a magical night :) I was a pirate wench that night, but I liked the Captain Jack Sparrow costume so well that I wore it on the 19th :) I got many compliments as well, but not as many as he did. Everywhere we walked I heard people say look its Captain Jack Sparrow! I even overheard a couple of young women say, "He looks just like Johnny Depp!" My husband has long dark curly hair at the moment, and I had him grow a beard for the party and shaved it appropriately. He looked GREAT!

It was truely an experience for my husband who is not into Disney and kept telling me he would never go back. Now he is slipping up saying, "Next time...." He now only wants to go during the Halloween parties which is fine w/me. I adore Halloween... esp. at WDW :)

Kathy, we myst have missed your family. Otherwise, I am sure we would not forget;)

Did you get your family photo yet? Care to share:p
