We were at WDW from Dec. 15-26. We stayed all 11 nights at Mickey's World townhome. Loved it! The only hiccup was about communicating what times we would like the pool heated for. When we arrived it was heated for late afternoon, early evening use but we needed it for early afternoon use. Once that was sorted out it was smooth sailing. The owners were very responsive.

The townhome is beautifully decorated and was very clean. There were more than enough towels. The kitchen had just about everything we needed. I really liked that it backed up to a green area so we were not looking into someone elses home.

The only complaint I have about the TH itself is that the box springs in the kids room squeaked pretty loudly. One in particular was so loud that it could be heard in the downstair bedroom when a kid was restless. We solved the problem by putting the bedframe and boxspring in the closet and putting the mattress on the floor. Everyone was happy after that.

I would rent this townhome again with no hesitation and will let the owner know about the boxsprings. Let me know there are any questions.

Thanks for posting this review. I am so jealous that you could go for 11 nights! I'll bet it was so nice.

Can you tell me how far of a drive it was to the parks and how many bedrooms you had. Is this a private owner or through a mangement company? Can pictures of the home be seen on the intranet? We are looking for a clean and safe property near Disney for March. It's so hard to deterime who is good from just the net. Thanks for your help.

For driving time I would estimate 5-7 minutes for Animal Kingdom, 10-12 for the other parks. People have timed the drives at less, but that's my best guestimate (I did not pay that much attention because it always felt quick). We used a shortcut we learned about on disboard. Super easy drive to the parks and back.

We dealt directly with the owner. They do not appear to use a mgmt company. The couple of times we called them (took a couple of calls to get the pool heat timing sorted out) they picked up. Did not have to leave messages or wait to hear back.

Pictures can be seen at the Mickeys World web site. Just google Mickey's world Windsor hills orlando. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a web site address. It was really beautifully decorated and Windsor Hills is gated with a 24 hour person at the gate. Felt completely safe.

I can also recommend Cypress Pointe which is where we stayed in 2005. We really loved it and would have stayed there again but we liked the idea of a splash pool.

I have to say the splash pool was worth any extra cost for us. Our kids are 5 and 8. I was able to let them swim while I was in the kitchen. You can see the splash pool completly through the glass sliding doors. They swam everyday and it was so nice to let them swim without having to make the trip to the clubhouse pool.

I love WH too & have looked at these townhomes. The only thing was they are middle homes & I wondered if you got much noise from your neighbours? We have only stayed in an end unit.

I was concerned about noise also. On occasian I could hear someone going up or down stairs but the noise from the other units was really minimal and I'm very sensitive to noise, particularly when I'm trying to sleep. I was more concerned about the noise my kids make disturbing other people.

One thing I liked about the middle units was that you have more privacy in the pool area. I noticed that end units did not have the wall on both sides of the pool.

Thanks for the review Chris! Sounds like a great place. So did you fly in or drive? We will be flying and renting a car. How close is the nearest grocery store and restaurants? Would you say this location is convenient for staying off property? Did you ever go back to the townhome in the afternoon to take a break or a nap or would you find that to be really inconvenient.... We are considering a stay at Pop Century, but a townhome like this would have so much more room and so I'm debating which will be more convenient. Do you know, is the $10 fee to park at Disney for the entire day, even if you leave and come back? Or do you have to pay $10 per entry?

Parking is $11, good for the whole day even if you change parks.

Closest grocery and restaurants are just minutes away. WH is off a road called 192 which is loaded with restaurants and several grocery stores.

We came back to the condo for a mid-day break every single day. I could not go the whole day without a break let alone expect my kids too.

Our usual schedule was to be at the parks well before opening. We were often the first people at a turnstile. We stayed in the park for 3-4 hours walking on all the rides or attractions we wanted and then headed back to the town home for a break just about when things were starting to get really crowded. The kids swam everyday in the splash pool and dh and I chilled out. I used this time to do laundry also. Then we'd head back out mid-afternoon.

We found the location very convenient. Its pretty close to Animal Kingdom. Last time we stayed at Cypress Pointe which was very close to downtown disney. I don't know that I preferred one location to the other. Both drives were easy and had plenty of restaurants and stores nearby.

Chris7 - you mentioned that you took a shortcut to WDW world. Care to give me/us those directions, please?

Thanks.
