We just got back from a 10 day stay at the GF. We were in Boca Chica which we requested with CRO when we made our reservations. We could see the kingdom, Comtemporary, Polynesian and just about all of the lagoon. The room was very clean and in great condition. We had no issues with run down furniture or air conditioning (we read posts before we left from people with these issues). The staff was very friendly, out the the whole 10 days, every cast memeber at the GF we encountered greeted us with hello and have a grand day!
We were concerned about this resort being too stuffy since we are very casual people and we were very comfortable walking around this resort.
The location is great, you can't beat it (except for Contemporary) especially since we had a 22 month old with us so we often went back and forth from the kingdom to our room. The maid service was great. They came in the morning before 11 and they were back at 6 pm for turndown.
The only problem we had was that 2 days before we were to come home, our daughter (22 months old) fell at the pool and we had to take an ambulance to the hospital and she ended up with 7 stitches. Security and lifegaurds were great and a doorman showed up and waited with us and then offered to pick us up at the hospital when we were done, which he did. He did that on his own.
However, we were a little surprised that we were not contacted by a manager for details on what happened or to ask how she was doing. We called the manager to see if she needed any info from us and she said no. We were thinking of writing to the GF management b/c we don't feel they followed up. We're NOT looking for compensation or anything like that, we just expected Disney to want to know exactly what happend, how it happened and maybe even to see how she made out especially since she is so young. I used to think they were careful or concerned about things like this. Does anyone know the name and address for the manager at GF?
Other than the fall (she is fine now and wanted to go swimming when we got back to the room!), our stay was great! I would recommend this hotel for it's location and beauty.
