I just wanted to let you all know I have my own scooter and from that standpoint, the trip was great. ME loaded me quickly when we arrived and the resort bus service was very good. All the bus drivers were kind and I got no hassle at all. I did have one guy who was not very talkative but that was it. Maybe the letters sent to WDW made an impact. I was only unable to load once due to too many people and I told the driver I would wait for the next bus when he appologized.

We stayed at POR and it was great. I have a new favorite resort. Room 1601 in alligator bayou. Great location and great room. Housekeeping was very good and the room was clean and neat. King bed with roll in shower with drop down bench. It made my trip much easier and DH didn't mind it at all.

We did get a visit from a gecko in our room once. The desk said it wasn't unusual and he scooted right out when we opened the door. I think we scared him more than he us.

The crowds were horrendous. I mean it was so crowded it was difficult to move around at times. This was the whole week at all the parks we visited. We hit Epcot Sun, Wed, Fri. MK on Monday and HS on Tue and Thur. We didn't get to do many of the things we wanted due to very long waits and sold out fastpasses. Haunted Mansion broke down and when we returned several times later the wait was over 90 min and over 2 hours. We gave up. Ah well, at least we were away from home and in a warm place.

We did get rain on Thurs and Fri. I used a poncho but mostly we just had short times in the parks. Again, everyone was in the rides to stay out of the rain. :confused3

So, when is the "quiet" time to go now? It certainly isn't October anymore. We have been there this time 3 years ago and it was quiet. Even Epcot was packed.

We were at WDW from Oct 12 thru Oct 23. We left the morning of 10/23, so our last park day was Wed, when we went to both Epcot and the Studio. We didn't see the large crowds (for the most part) that you saw. There were times when I took pictures with hardly anyone in the picture. A lot depends on which park you are at and exactly when. Even in a park, it depend on where you are. The last time we rode Soarin' on 10/22, the standby wait was 25 minutes when we got there. Apparently news got out because when we got off, the wait was posted as 45 minutes. That was around 7pm.
Epcot was busy (especially over the weekend days) because of the Food and Wine Festival that is going on right now. By afternoon, Future World was pretty quiet and the traffic had moved over to WS.
