I just got back from the 1/9/05 Wonder 4 day and wanted to thank everyone on this forum for all the useful info. I took a 7 day Disney Cruise 2 1/2 years ago, but couldn't remember alot and since it was first cruise ever, I probably missed out on quite a few things.
All in all, it was a great experience. Only negative was our experience with Oceaneer Club for our 4 year old. This was her first time to participate in the club, we did a little of Flounders Reef last time. She was sooooo excited but was very sad after a short while each time she went. When I would stand back and watch or peek in before picking her up, I noticed the young ones were kind of left alone. My daughter has never cried when left for preschool or play dates or such, so it kind of broke my heart to see her sad and crying, usually because she had been waiting for someone to tell her it was her turn or that she was welcome to join an activity. I even had other children come to me for help with their crafts and my DH found himself starting a little hot potato game with several kids who were otherwise standing all alone.
Spoke to guest services and Oceaneer Club manager - Jane, and they couldn't have been nicer. Jane came to greet Sarah next day and welcomed her over to join the group activity. I wouldn't normally complain but we tried on our own several times and the end result was the same. Maybe it was too many kids at one time. I think it was much better when the 3-4 were separated from the older kids.
Anyway, that was my only negative experience. It did force me to cancel much of my adult evening plans, but I love spending time with my kids and by the last night, I needed an early evening anyway.
Thanks again to all for the help in planning. (By the way I did the pillowcase thing - using a minnie mouse pillow case already washed and soft from a little wear - Guest Services had several characters sign, front and back - What a great souvenier)
