What a blast! Last year DS and I went and decided to bring DH and nephew this year. I have no pictures because I left my camera at the HRH. THey are sending it to me so hopefully later I can post them. To place things in perspective, when I compare to last year, I am will be comparing to opening weekend last year.
The houses were great. Our favorite was Psychoscarapy and our least favorite was The Thing. Jack's 3-D house was also very cool. Rocky Horror Picture Show was the best and very top notch. Those actors had all of there parts nailed down. I wonder if they are a professional troupe.
Scare Zones were good but I think there were more scare actors last year. There was a definite increase of scare actor visibility on Saturday night than on Friday night. We really enjoyed the whole circus theme and I think US did an excellent job in this.
The biggest disappointment for DS and I was Bill and Ted's. Notwithstanding the opening weekend kinks to work out, we felt last years was much funnier. I think what impressed me the most last year was that all of the actors really looked and sounded like the people they were portraying. This year there were only a few who hit the mark. There were a few big laughs but not like last year. With that said, my DH and nephew saw it for the first time and thought it was great. During the first show on Friday night (7:30 PM), we were sitting behind someone who was extremely drunk and rowdy. Then the alcohol really kicked in and his girlfriend was trying to walk him up the steps to exit the arena. He kept falling into people sitting and watching the show. I don't know where the girlfriend left him because she came back in and watched the rest of the show. About 90 minutes later, DS and I were walking from BTTF area to the front gate and there was the drunk guy being walked out with a lot of support by his girlfriend. He was staggering and falling down so she got him to sit down on a seat. I saw two people in yellow security shirts and let them know that the couple may need assistance. I hope they both made it out OK. What amazed me was that it was so early in the night. I couldn't imagine paying all that money to not enjoy all that was there to offer.
Kudos to Universal! What a huge production to manage and they did it so well. It was amazing how everything was all cleaned up for the ark openings the next day.
