What a blast! Last year DS and I went and decided to bring DH and nephew this year. I have no pictures because I left my camera at the HRH. THey are sending it to me so hopefully later I can post them. To place things in perspective, when I compare to last year, I am will be comparing to opening weekend last year.

The houses were great. Our favorite was Psychoscarapy and our least favorite was The Thing. Jack's 3-D house was also very cool. Rocky Horror Picture Show was the best and very top notch. Those actors had all of there parts nailed down. I wonder if they are a professional troupe.

Scare Zones were good but I think there were more scare actors last year. There was a definite increase of scare actor visibility on Saturday night than on Friday night. We really enjoyed the whole circus theme and I think US did an excellent job in this.

The biggest disappointment for DS and I was Bill and Ted's. Notwithstanding the opening weekend kinks to work out, we felt last years was much funnier. I think what impressed me the most last year was that all of the actors really looked and sounded like the people they were portraying. This year there were only a few who hit the mark. There were a few big laughs but not like last year. With that said, my DH and nephew saw it for the first time and thought it was great. During the first show on Friday night (7:30 PM), we were sitting behind someone who was extremely drunk and rowdy. Then the alcohol really kicked in and his girlfriend was trying to walk him up the steps to exit the arena. He kept falling into people sitting and watching the show. I don't know where the girlfriend left him because she came back in and watched the rest of the show. About 90 minutes later, DS and I were walking from BTTF area to the front gate and there was the drunk guy being walked out with a lot of support by his girlfriend. He was staggering and falling down so she got him to sit down on a seat. I saw two people in yellow security shirts and let them know that the couple may need assistance. I hope they both made it out OK. What amazed me was that it was so early in the night. I couldn't imagine paying all that money to not enjoy all that was there to offer.

Kudos to Universal! What a huge production to manage and they did it so well. It was amazing how everything was all cleaned up for the ark openings the next day.

Thanks for the review! Hope to see your photos soon!
How was the hotel?

B&T was the only thing we missed Saturday night. I am just not a B&T fan anyway and could miss it any time. DH likes it. :confused3
I am just not real big on pop culture and people saying "dude" quite often. ;) (Amazed people still say that... even in pop culture shows.)
DH said it was good last year. I passed even then because I was so underwhelmed by B&T the previous year.
Scare zones are c3ertainly lacking this year. Didn't take much imagination or time to come up with what they have. :confused3 Almost felt like the scare zone was an after thought.
But overall very good. Just not the best I have been to. But still worth attending! :yay:

Where were these scare zones of which you speak? Seriously - I did not see any real scare zones so maybe I missed them.

Yeah, I think I could have come up with better ideas for a scare zone in one hour. :rotfl2:
The scare zones were of course between Jack's Carnival of Carnage and the Freak Show. And their theme was victorian England. :confused3 (Yeah, REAL scary. :rotfl2: )
Now throw in Jack the Ripper, victorian street walkers, pick pockets, drunks and ghosts and you might have something! :lmao: And they could promote two types of Jack's! Maybe that was their intention. But I saw no indication of that. :confused3
There were also scareactors between the Mummy and and Canal St.
That's it.
Yeah missed what has been shown from the past years. Not even a short parade to liven up the streets. :confused3

oh- well then I guess I did see them. I just didn't consider them scare zones as no attempt was made by anyone in them to scare anyone walking through.

I did see some chain saw guys outside of TCM too. But there was no theming in that area.

I would have liked to see actual scare zones like the one the pp described in the post above. It just didn't have the same HHN feel without them.

I wonder if they'll put those "scare zones" in. Its what I've been continually reading has been missing from all that went so far. Hopefully someone reads these sites from Universal. Doesn't seem too hard to do. I thought there was suppose to be a parade also??? Never been, but looking forward to it (even though I scare real easy)

2005 was the last time there was a parade for HHN and I don't see them adding one this year. I miss the true scare zones like Fright Yard and Field of Screams but the two additional houses make up for it.
