Just Back Fanstasy Western Concierge Cruise!

Breakfast, had fresh fruit, pastries and cereals, typical breakfast stuff minus protein( eggs) except yogurt.
My cappacinno machine.....was awesome! I don't drink, but my friend seemed to mention Christopher if I'm not mistaken for bartender at night, they had a wine thing going on! Lol

Did you receive any special goodies? What was the best concierge moment? Why will you never travel non-convierge again?

I would never travel any other way because this concierge staff, and out waitstaff Agrus and Vojlslav was right there, we never needed or wanted for anything! We received many specials little things. But I also went on this cruise with no expectations. I got the dining seating asked for, we got a cabana, massage when needed. The greatest table mates....ever! I even lost my cell phone on CastAway Cay and got it back! I'm happy I was there last week because there is now a hurricane right where we were! We also got put into mixology class..

Concierge.....AMAZING! will never stay any other way....
PJ, Linda, Amanda, cannot say enough how great they are!
If any questions...feel free!
How many people were in your room and what did your cruise cost? Also, how much did you tip your concierge staff?

I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise!

I am not the OP but I just cruised for the first time ever- concierge on the Dream earlier in Sept. I would not travel non-concierge again. It was totally worth it! We loved the lounge, the special treatment, first on board, got all our requests and some we didn't even know we wanted, location of the rooms, larger room size. It was just amazing. Most special concierge moment? When we realized our teenage son had befriended one of the concierge hosts, and he'd randomly be like, I'm gonna go see Danny. And we knew he would get him whatever he wanted. This trip was a very long time coming and it was nice to know someone was spoiling our kids. We did get special goodies. One example- we went to the concierge lounge to ask how we could get tokens for the arrrcade. The host immediately walked over to the desk and pulled out an envelope with our name on it. Inside were 3 arrcade cards- one for each of the kids. Another- we have two boys (15 & 12) and an 11 year old daughter. We've been to DW, done the character thing, when they were younger. We weren't thinking we were going to aggressively pursue characters. If we saw them, fine. Well, concierge gave us tickets to the princess and Ana and Elsa meet and greets. We didn't even ask or plan to get them- but it ended up being a huge highlight for our daughter, and us!

Wonderful to hear you loved concierge! We are sailing Oct 31 on the Fantasy, Concierge for our 25 anniversary trip -- splurged for something much needed as hubby and I have had a very hard 3 years and really wanted something special for our anniversary. I don't mind saying that our CAT V room concierge was around $5,000 CDN for us/ approx $2200 each plus exchange rate. I wouldn't discuss tipping either though, that's personal for everyone to decide on their own. I was almost beginning to regret booking this cruise due to the negatives I've been reading lately about all the changes. I am beginning to look forward to it again and hope we have a wonderful experience. Glad to hear yours was magical and worth every moment!

This is what I dislike about reading any trip forums, you cannot go by what everyone has experienced! Your cruise
Is what you both will make it! You will go, concierge, and you will enjoy every minute! Why? Because you are in each other's company! And concierge just enhances this. There are so many nay Sayers who do not have to money to do what you are doing. And there are many people who want EVERYTHING FOR NOTHING! Or nothing is good enough to for them...I know fact you will joy it!! Don't sweat the small stuff, just bring more then two bathing suits. Clips for the room curtains to hold them back( the views rock) and take advantage of everything concierge can do for you!!

Thanks for the encouraging feedback. Were there any times of the day, both sea days and port days, when you noticed that the lounge was very busy? Did you find a way to make good use of the sundeck? We're a party of 9 who will be trying concierge on the Fantasy for the first time soon so any input would be appreciated.

The lounge is like one big family, people coming and going.....someplace to stop in morning and get THE BEST CAPPACINNO..like ever....there is always plenty of room, and you are always acknowledged when you walk in the door. I recommend you utilizing concierge as much as you can! That is what they are there for. They booked me massages within an hour of having it due to my pain. And always had the wine choices ready for my friend when sh walked in the lounge!

Thanks for your reply! Did you delete your other thread with your likes and dislikes about the cruise? I can't seem to locate it now. I wondered about the cabana. Currently we have one booked on the Family beach, but someone on my FB cruise group put out a request to see if anyone would be willing to switch to a Serenity Bay one. My hubby and I are 2 adults, so we technically could do this , but I chose the family cabana more for the protected waters at the Family Beach and for the private beach for the Cabanas. however , i remember you stated it was loud and chaotic on the family beach. I am questioning whether i should contemplate this cabana switch, and perhaps move over to SB.... one positive it would save us $150 :) I don't know, I don't want the cabana rental to be a regret. hopefully you enjoyed your cabana time on CC!

Thanks for your report. I gave up trying to get a balanced view on these boards a short while ago - when there was a spate of concierge bashing going on (God forbid I spend my hard earned money on what I want).
So nice to hear from someone who has been there, done that and enjoys wearing the t-shirt.

We take the Oct 31 Fantasy cruise (concierge) as well!!

Have been on 2 prior Fantasy concierge cruises and I agree with those who would never cruise any other way!!

I agree that there is definitely some anti-concierge sentiment. However, I think some of that comes from general dissatisfaction with increasing prices and some personality clashes among frequent posters. Everyone's vacation style is different. I think you just have to read reviews and get a feel for if the way the writer travels would or would not match what you do.

Concierge Bashing? I think it's more the "We paid for concierge so were entitled" attitude that people get upset with. You wanna cruise concierge great, If you feel the perks are worth the price thats great too. In the end those in concierge share the boat with all the other cruisers, you don't get to go to the front of the line at character meets and greets, you don't have a separate dining room from the rest of the guests, All guests have the same access to amenities, shows, pools, dining facilities, bars, etc.... on board save for the perks like the the concierge lounge and sundeck.

Those of you that sail in concierge I hope you have a wonderful cruise just don't look at those that do not as lesser cruisers.

I agree completely, we sail concierge and love it but we never think or express that we are "better" than nonconcierge guests . We like the perks of concierge and will likely never sail anyother way. Don't lump all concierge passengers with one bad egg. :)

I say we paid for concierge and we are entitled to what we paid for. We have a private character meet, choice of a table (I got the exact table we had each prior cruise), prior booking for Remy and Palo, early on and "easy" off the ship--among other perks that we paid for.
