We left on Friday afternoon around 2 pm from FW. We hit alot of traffic on I-4 out of FLorida. Once we got past Jacksonville there was not any traffic. If you are from Jersey one word of caution, since we don't normally pump our own gas here I realized at 3:00 am at a gas stop that I left my gas cap 300 miles back! Thank goodness the Truck stop had one gas cap left and it fit! We were supposed to stop for the night but we started checking hotels along 95 in NC and all were booked. Then we drove to VA and there was no luck there either. So I ended up driving all night :earseek: I made it to the Ferry just as it was boarding for NJ at 7:30 am. I think this will be the last time I drive!

If you're going to leave to drive back home, leaving around 10:00am is a much better plan. Otherwise, yup, the traffic is terrible during morning or evening rush.

We drove in July, doing it again in a couple of weeks. We have our rooms booked already.

With proper planning, it's an easy trip.

I have to agree with Anne. We always drive from NJ, and always have our reservations made before leaving home for our stops along 95. I'd hate to have to continue driving and not be able to stop, just because I didn't make reservations. With pre-made reservations, driving has always been easy!!!
