I've been to WDW many times but this was my first trip out to DL and we had a fabulous time! Stayed at PP April 19th - 23rd. Did in Walt's Footsteps Tour on our first morning and I really enjoyed this. Something about going back to where it all began gave me the warm fuzzies :flower3::welcome:
While the parks seemed crowded the lines weren't so bad. I guess this is b/c it's so much smaller than WDW so everything seemed full. But really we didn't experience waits of more than 30 minutes and it helped that I did some planning and we made rope drop every morning.
Spent my Birthday :bday: in DL and had breakfast at the Plaza Inn which was very good. The characters there that day were Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Chip & Dale.
We also did the PTN dessert party. My only gripe with this is that we were told to line up at 8:15 pm for a 9pm show. Well they didn't have nearly enough staff so we weren't seated until right before 9pm and I got so inthralled in to the show that I didn't eat much of my plate. We didn't see our server again until after it was over to get any drink refills. The food presentation was cute and there was definitely plenty of food.
We also did a tequila tasting beverage seminar for Food & Wine and that was cool. :drinking1
It dawned on me on the flight home that I never got any Disney popcorn which is a travesty in itself! We did try the churro funnel cake and that was amazing! I think our only bad meal was from the lounge in PP. Other than that the food was very good.
I feel like we got to do everything we wanted to and overall it was an amazing trip. I will definitely come back!

I would assume you meant the WOC Dessert Party. I would write a letter to Guest Relations about how long it took to be seated. That's too pricey of an event to leave you no time to eat. They need to do better.

Yep- DLR sucks you right in doesn't it? When they announced the Aladdin show was going to close in 2010 (they later changed their minds and left it open until this year) we were going to take ONE family trip so DD- an Aladdin fan- could see it before it closed. (I was there for 1 day on a business trip in 2008 and saw the show and loved it- and loved DLR too). We have taken a family trip to DLR every summer since that 2010 trip! We were there during anniversary week in July last year, and we still didn't feel like we had huge waits for anything or that the crowds were not manageable.

Glad you enjoyed your trip!!! Next thing you know, you will be like us and find yourself alternating between coasts.

Glad you had a great time! I loved our trips to WDW but DL is my happiest happy place!!

I'm glad that you had such a good time at the Disneyland Resort. It's great when we can appreciate both resorts for what they have to offer, and Disneyland Resort packs a lot into two parks. :)

Great to hear you had such a good time. We're thinking of going to Disneyland next summer after having an amazing time at Disney World. How do you find the two parks compare?

We had a great time at DL too! We definitely want to go back but are going to WDW in December. It's so convenient to be able to walk between the two parks. Everyone needs to go to DL!

I did send a message to Guest Relations. We'll see if they respond!
