DisneyQuest was one of the things I was most excited about seeing on our recent trip...but as it turned out, it was one of the most disappointing.

Part of the trouble, I think, was that it was a rainy day during a hugely busy week. We arrived by noon--which I thought was early enough--only to find waits of nearly an hour for the big attractions (Virtual Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, PoTC)!! :(
It was a real bummer, especially after waiting in line for EVERTHING the rest of the week.

Instead, we went on and played the classic games. Some were fun, but several were out of order and more than 50% of the machines had broken buttons and controllers!! It was ridiculous!! We spent three hours there and never had a chance to try any of the cooler attractions. We are huge video game fans, but in the end, DisneyQuest did not feel like anything special. If you're twelve years old, go for it, otherwise, save your cash. I'm REALLY glad the admission price was included in our UPHs, because if we had shelled out $60 for an afternoon of frustration, I would have been mighty upset.

Sorry to hear you didn't have a good time. We went in September 2002 and had the place to ourselves! I guess timing is everything with this place. We hope to visit again on our upcoming trip in December. :)

We went in Dec. for the 1st time. We had some wait times, maybe as much as 20min, but I was most dissappointed in the amount of broken machines. I't doesn't sound like they have done much there lately. I think you should email WDW and let them know of your dissatisfaction.

I agree with you about the "being 12" part. My mother & I visited DisneyQuest on our last visit. We are fans of all things Disney, but we will not likely return to DisneyQuest. There just wasn't enough there that interested us.

Pirates of the Carribean was cool, but once was enough. I thought virtual Space Mountain was unique, but no big thril. Our favorite attraction was the Buzz Lightyear game with the bumpercar-type vehicles that shoot balls at your opponents. We played that 4 or 5 times.

I think we spent 3 hours there & that was enough. I'm sure that kids & teens find a lot more to do at DisneyQuest. Personally, I'd rather spend time in one of the parks or waterparks or even just exploring the Disney property.

Oh, that is such a bummer you didn't have a good DQ experience! I guess the crowd factor can make or break a DQ visit.

We went in 2000 & I absolutely *loved* that place! DH & I had a blast at the Buzz bumper car game (and kicked much tail, I might add - LOL!).

CyberSpace Mountain is just the coolest thing ever, IMO! I'm a huge coaster fan & to be able to design & ride my own was great! Plus, dh gets motion sick sometimes, so it was fun for him to try to design the most extreme coaster & try to get it to affect me. Of course, he was unsuccessful :teeth:

agree is not enjoyable.
We have found a good weekend time to go is Sunday evening.
Pirates is still a wait, but manageable.
Even slow, some things we have not tried out just because of the wait.
I would imagine a rainy day during busy season would not be a good time to visit DQ. ;)

I hope you reported the out of order machines and the ones with broken controllers. The DQ CMs have no way of knowing things are broken if nobody tells them. I would hate to find broken games on our next trip!

I'd certainly never go on a rainy afternoon!

thanks for the feedback. we've never made it there cuz our trips have always been too short and we had a baby. now the baby isn't a baby and my 7 yr old really wants to go. How does it work with the tix? Our passes don't include Quest. Do parents pay or can one parent pass the other one off while go play Legos w/ the 3 year old?!!?! thanks, Maggie appreciate your post... was wondering what to expect...

If I had reported all the broken controllers/buttons/and games, it would have taken the entire afternoon. You couldn't spit without hitting something that wasn't working (pardon the analogy!). They MUST have been aware that many of these things needed fixing...shouldn't maintenance go around and spot check the machines every night? Especially considering the volume of people that go through there?

we wend the end of Feb, and my DH and kids (11 & 8) had a blast, I tolerated it because I wasn't feeling well. The place was empty, we were the first ones in and didn't see anyone for probably 1 hour. We spent 5 hours there, and the time flew by. The kids and DH would have stayed longer but we had PSs at HDDR so we had to leave. We're going back to WDW in Oct, and am currently planning our itinerary, when I told the kids I was planning a water park day they asked if they could go to DQ instead!

I wonder if there is an email address we could write to in order to make sure they are aware of it. When we were there last year, we did come across one game with a broken joystick and we did report it to them. I would hate to find ALL the games not working....and I'm sure the problems are probably with the more popular ones. The one we had a problem with was Tron. Anybody remember that game? Love it!

I'm 49 going on 12! I got a good deal from ticketmania(by way of mousesavers.com) about 6 months ago for tickets at $21.00 each.
We like to go there on a beautiful afternoon when everyone is either at the parks or pools. I just love this place!!

My DS16 wants to go to DQ. The 2 days that he can choose from is Sat 5/1 or Sun. 5/2 . Sounds like Sun might be the better day. There is Grad. Nights that weenkend do you think that might affect the crowds at DQ? Sounds like he doesn't want to be there when it is crowded.

I took our son there a few years ago and we had a nice time. But we were there very early and no lines had formed yet. By the time we left the lines were getting quite long though.

Each person did have to pay to enter the place. You can't even eat at the Cheesecake Factory without paying admission.
