We picked up our card at DTD and called from there to have it activated. Process took less than 10 minutes.

As far as using the card, everything went smoothly with only one glitch. Used it at all four parks as well as DTD, BB and the mini-golf courses. We were given a receipt after each use showing the balance left on the card. The only problem was at Pizzafari at AK. The CM just could not get the card to work. The manager came out and explained that this was the first reward card they had seen. They had instruction sheets explaining how to run the card through, but just couldn't get it to go. We didn't want to hold up the very long line that was waiting behind us so we put it on our room key. We saved the last few dollars on the card to use at Beaches and Cream our last night.

There has been a lot of discussion on this board about the Disney Visa Rewards. Some have debated whether the 1% return is worthwhile or a waste of time. All I can say is, after using a Northwest Airlines Visa and building up thousands of frequent flier miles we could never use, it sure was nice actually being able to spend our rewards at a place that we enjoy going year after year!

Great. Thanks for the info. We are going to use our rewards card in November.

I am glad to know that the card worked so well. I have one already and I think I'll have a bit more to add to it before our trip. I had also ordered some certificates before the cards came out. I wonder if I took the card and the certificates to Downtown Disney if they would put them on the card? It seems that the card will be much easier to use and keep track of. Is not I will just put the cert on our room charge and use them that way. :D

Hi from another Minnesotan!

Glad to hear the Rewards Card works pretty slick. One of Disney's better ideas, I think.

I am curious as to why you can't use your NW miles? Just can't get seats oout of MSP?

can you use the NW miles on Delta now that they are shareholding or whatever it's called?

herc.

do we get a disney reward card...pls help!!! the more we have to go with the better!

jlp651 The rewards card is from the points earned on the Disney Visa credit card. The rewards are not that great only 1%, but for the last year we have been putting EVERTHING on the card (and paying it off monthly) to earn the points. We now have about $150 points or dollars to spend at the parks in Nov. When you cash in your points they send a credit card type thing with the points ready to use. As docsnot said at least they are useable, we also have an airline card but the flights we want never seem to have free seats on them. As a side note the GM card is really good if you are thinking of a new car.:teeth:

Just ordered my Rewards card this weekend. Figure the few bucks I have earned can at least pay for part of a meal. Any little bit helps.

Herc, We just could never get seats on flights where we wanted to go. Besides Orlando we tried to get seats to Hawaii and California. Have never been able to find any! That's why Disney Rewards are such a welcome change. Credit card rewards you can actually use.

First off, it is a great looking card, with Sorcerer Mickey's arm spreading what I'm thinking is shiny pixie dust all over a blue card-it's very nice. Second, we were able to pick it up and activate it right away at Guest Relations in DTD. Third, we were able to use it at WOD, for partial payment of our bill, along with the DC discount. I'm sure going to miss that DC discount! But the AP provides the same discount, I think, but only at WDW. I have often signed up for things and programs I never used. This reward card allowed me to earn 100. towards our trip for purchases I would have made anyway!

Where is Guest Relations in DTD??
Also if you get the card before your go can they add more to it?

was a really small building in the Marketplace. Not sure what it was next to-I think it was in the vicinity of Once Upon a Toy. This building is the same place where you can rent strollers and buy passes. The Bank One rep I spoke to when I activated the rewards card told me I could transfer as many reward dollars as I wanted at that time (don't know what the minimum was as I had 101), and that once I had at least 10 more, I could move them to the card as well. I think the new rewards don't post to your account till the next statement close, though.

Does anyone know - if I pick up my card at DTD 1/2 way through the trip can I then just apply it to my resort bill if I have been putting my meals, etc on my room card? I would rather be at WDW when I put all those points on my card than risk something cancelling my trip at the last minute and having my points expire before my next trip. I know that they're good for 5 years until you put them on the card.

I just wanted to mention that I had been ordering the rewards certificates until they came out with the card. Then I thought the card sounded so much better than those giant certificates. I emailed them and they said they were happy to take the certs back and credit my account with the points so that I could use them all together on the card.

The email said to send them to:
