Made a Disney Golf trip last week with friends and stayed at the Treehouse Villas. The resort worked out great! The Treehouses are perfect for a foursome to stay in, everyone gets their own bed, no sleeper sofa. The room was a little secluded, but since we don't frequent the parks during these stays it still worked out.

I'm a little disappointed about Disney Golf... We use to have access to 5 courses and a better golf rate. With the sale of Eagle Pines and Osprey Ridge, I'm very discouraged about what golfing is going to look like in the future. Within the next two years WDW will be down to 3 courses and there will be a lot of pressure on them, it simply will not be the golf resort it has been in the pass. I was looking forward to many more golf trips there in the future but I'm not sure it will be available in years to come.:sad2:

What did you think of the condition of the 4 courses? DH played all 4 Disney courses, and he felt Osprey was in the least good shape, like Disney's already getting used to not caring for it. He loved Magnolia and Palm. We met some other golfers who highly recommended the course at Bonnet Creek, implying that you could play there even if you weren't a guest there. But we can't find any info about that. Do you know anything about it? I definitely agree that it's too bad DVC members have to pay more than they used to.

I would agree... Osprey feels a bit abandoned. Both Palm and Magnolia were in good shape. We noticed the service isn't the same anymore either. We have been making golf only trips since October of 2002 and things have really slipped since then.

When we were there a month ago courses were in good shape. Osprey is actually in good shape but the clearing of woods and land preparation that has gone on near a number of holes for the construction that will occur has taken away from the scenic value of the course and made some of holes look ugly even though the holes themselves have not changed.

Osprey remains at this point a Disney course. It was supposed to be turned over to Four Seasons this year but the building project of Four Seasons was set back at least two years (it was orginally supposed to open late this year but now not until 2012 at the earliest) and likely Osprey will still be available for another year and possibly until 2012. Once it is turned over to Four Seasons it will be up to it to determine use by Disney guests. The reason Disney decided to give up two golf courses (Eagle Pines was closed as part of the Four Seasons project) is economics; it was simply losing too much money on the golf courses.

Do yourself a favor, rent a car, and go off-site to play. Better courses, better conditions, and better rates.
