We just got back from WDW last Saturday. Of course I want to be back there! :) The table service restaurants we ate at were for the most part very good.

O'Hana's: We ate there the first night. I thought it was OK but everyone else in my party really liked it. The chicken wings and salad were wonderful. I could have just eaten the salad all night. I also liked the chicken kabobs, noodles, broccoli, and bread pudding. The steak was a bit undercooked and chewy but had a good taste. Everyone who tried the shrimp thought it was OK. The service was very good. This isn't on my must do list but it is worth it to try it out.

Boma: We go here every time we are at WDW. This time I didn't think the food was quite as good as before. The meats seemed tough and the desserts weren't as tasty except for the zebra domes. Love those zebra domes. DH did say the soups were excellent and he sampled them all! The waiter we had was excellent.

Sci Fi: We went for lunch. This restaurant has improved since we last went there which was a long time ago. The burgers were really good and the milkshakes delicious. DH liked the reuben sandwich. The movie reel is longer. Again, service was good.

Boatwrights: We were staying at French Quarter so decided to go over to Riverside to try this restaurant. It was just OK. The chicken was dry and tough. DH had the jambalaya and it seemed to be a very skimpy portion and just OK, not great. The cornbread was good as well as the service.

Tony's Town Square: I know alot of people don't like this restaurant but we had a great experience. First of all, our waitress was outstanding. I had the chicken parm and pasta. DH had the lasagna, DS had the lamb, and his girlfriend had spaghetti and meatballs. We all enjoyed our meals. We split desserts; tiramisu and chocolate cake. They were yummy. This was a great restaurant for our last night dinner.

For counter service we went to Columbia Harbor House which was good as always. The clam chowder and the tuna sandwich were tasty. We ate at Electric Umbrella which is just standard quick service fare, although the chicken cesaer salad was good. In AK we ate at Restaurantosaurus and had a delicious veggie melt sub. DH and DS tried the fish and chips at Yorkshire Country Fish Shop and really enjoyed them.

The only disappointment on the trip was Boatwright's and even that wasn't too bad.

Thanks for sharing! It's a relief to read a good review of Tony's. We are trying it for the first time in August. We've been avoiding it because of the bad reviews, but this time we have the DxDP and all these TS lunches, so we figured, what the heck!

I seem to remember having the clam chowder at CHH years ago and it was served in a bread bowl. Do you know if this is still an option?
Thanks,
Pat

Thanks for alerting me to the link. I thoroughly enjoyed your TR, not ONLY the Tony's review! I love your wheel of fortune references...hysterical! You were right NOT to sit there for the Luau! Seating definitely makes a difference in one's experience at this show. Our last trip was impacted by Irene. We weren't worried about getting home, but about getting THERE. I would much rather be trapped at WDW, missing school, no big deal, than trapped at home unable to reach WDW! Ours worked out OK, too. We needed to shift everything to a day later (JetBlue let us change from Monday-Monday to Tues-Tues.- we were there a week later than you).

Thanks again!

I was thinking about cancelling our Tony's reservation but your meal sounded good... we just might have to keep it!

Thanks for sharing your dining reviews - I too have never had a bad meal at Tony's and would never give it a bad review where Disney restaurants are concerned.

Yeah I seem to find myself enjoying all the appetizers at 'Ohanas these days rather than the skewers.

Thanks,

The clam chowder is still there but I heard that they don't serve it in the bread bowl anymore, I'm with you, I hope it's not true.

Unfortunately Columbia Harbour House no longer has the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Both my DH and DS were disappointed at that. But the chowder is still good.

That's a bummer....that made a nice lunch.
Thanks for letting me know,
Pat
