Sorry, if this should be in the review section. It's just not a real review. No pics or food descriptions. Just some notes.
Beach Club- Cape May for dinner and breakfast was nice. The food was good. Enjoyable time and atmosphere. Beaches and Cream, we had twice. The second time we went, the family ordered the kitchen sink for dinner. It really was a fun experience. But it turned into a soupy mess. And DD who doesn't like mint ice cream eventually refused to have anything, because the mint infused its way through. (I actually see her point. I don't like mint either.) The No Way Jose, however, we had the first night was fantastic. Oh and the burgers were really good too.
Boardwalk Bakery- The sandwiches were dry. Maybe they were supposed to be. If I knew I needed to add my own mayo, it might have been fine, but I was in a hurry and didn't know. Oreo cupcake and s'mores cupcake were good. (Oreo a bit better.)
Liberty Tree Tavern- I think it's hard to go wrong here. I had the pilgrim's feast. It's tasty enough, with a sweet atmosphere and nice staff. It's probably a good choice for those not terribly adventurous too.
Columbia Harbor House- Boy the rumors are true. The Lighthouse was just about the best meal I had at Disney. DH however, who wouldn't care for hummus or anything called broccoli slaw, was not interested in my sandwich. Good thing he didn't get it for himself. "Trust your gut," he said after sampling it.
Pizzafari- It was OK. If you need pizza, I suppose this had more options. Honestly, I had wanted to try Flametree, but it wasn't in the cards. It was the other side of the park, and we were headed from the safari to Lion King. Pizzafari is right there. Note, if you really want to try FT, plan to tour a little differently. Maybe try dinoland closer to lunch time.
Tangerine Cafe- Different and good. Just the type of food folks who want to experience different cuisines from WS would want. Also, has burgers for the kids. It's harder to come by burgers in EPCOT than you'd think. Perhaps Liberty Inn has them?
Akershus- Breakfast was nice. Food was tasty, princesses were great. They do a cute little processional with the kids. DD had fun.
Le Cellier- Did lunch here. OK it's a bit pricey. But everything is. I dared the mushroom fillet, despite some reviews that it is now super small. The server said it's 5 oz. I gave it a shot. It didn't seem too small for me. (I'm not a huge eater. But it was definitely bigger than a meatball.) It was delicious. I almost licked the plate. Please keep in mind, I am not terribly picky. I can see why some would think it's a but salty. But it wasn't all THAT salty. If you feel like you are a bit more go with the flow eater, I think you'll enjoy it here. I also wanted to experience the maple creme brulee, only I was full and we had to leave. What's a girl to do? I ordered it to go. They put it in a cup for me, and warned it would destroy the presentation. (Who cares? It's all going to the same place. I think I just channeled my inner dad.) I took it out of the fridge later and ate it. Honestly, I think having it cold made it more enjoyable. Maybe it was because the weather was warm. But the caramelized top all mix in was pretty delicious. It was like little crunchy maple bits in your pudding. Yum.
La Hacienda. We got in late here. Also keep in mind, they lost our ADR. Not sure if it has anything to do with the restaurant or just the Disney system. But they took us anyway. It was a long wait. (Bad news in the grumpy DH department.) By the time we ate, Dh wasn't really hungry. We both ordered appetizers for dinner. I think that was a great way to go. If we were hungrier I think we would just order more apps, and sample lots of things. Also, nice for the kids, offering tacos was at least a bit different than the pizza/mac n cheese option elsewhere. And their dessert was churros and ice cream, rather than the ice cream with syrup/sprinkles/banana chips. We were in so-so seating for Illuminations, but luckily the folks at the window behind us left, and no one else was seated. So we scooted over to watch. the waitress was very nice, grabbed another chair, etc.
Biergarten- Also lost ADRs, but also took us anyway, and it wasn't too crowded. Surprisingly, it was one of the better meals for my kids. DS8 tried some sausage. (Who knew?) They all had fruit, schnitzel, mac n cheese, desserts. When it comes to the kids I aim low in the food department. But this wasn't a bad choice. As for me, I thought the food a was good too. It also isn't a bad buffet for non adventurous adults. Other than sauerkraut, I didn't find anything to be too difficult for pickier eaters. (But I'm half German.)
Rose and Crown- A hit once again. Here's the irony. I chose it because I thought it would provide some safer option for my family. (Alas I am alone in my desire to experience all the WS cuisines.) However, my kids chose this restaurant to expand their horizons. DS8 ordered fish and chips. DS9 ordered bangers and mash. Ok, it's not like eating chocolate covered grass hoppers, but I was impressed they didn't order pizza. They both enjoyed it too. I ordered shepherd's pie. It's tasty if you like lamb, which I do.
CS desserts -I over did it here. So much went to waste. I wanted to sample so much. But again, the rest of the family wasn't as interested. France was superb. I enjoyed the eclairs even more than the napoleon. Kringla was also nice. Had a cloudberry horn and chocolate covered pretzel. Both good, even for picky eaters, but the horn seemed not quite worth the price. Starring Rolls in DHS had the best cupcakes, IMO. I tried the red velvet cheesecake and chocolate/peanut butter. But again, most went to waste. So sad
Whew! That's the quick and dirty. I really enjoyed being able to head over to WS for our TS meals or even just a snack. If you love the food at EPCOT, staying at an EPCOT resort is wonderful. We were at the Beach Club. We were as close to EPCOT as you could be.
