My DW and I just returned from our latest of many WDW trips--a combination conference and vacation, call it a "Conferacation" I guess.
We were joined by our DD (26), who is now a full-time cast member
. We were eager to visit TS Land, especially given the nostalgic appeal for our daughter who not only grew up with those movies, but worked TSM during her College program.
We really liked the theming execution a lot, but somehow thought the land might be bigger. It would have been nice to be able to loop around the experience instead of just hitting a dead end and having to turn around.
With regard to attractions, we agreed that the Slinky Coaster was a sleeper "hit"--far superior to the mine train at MK. Others may disagree. Other members of our party got to experience the saucer ride and they gave it rave reviews. I also appreciated the interaction with the army personnel, who roamed about and interacted in a more extemporaneous way with guests--rather than having people wait in line to get their photos, etc.
The one negative, as countless others have noted, is that I think Disney dropped the ball on not providing sufficient protection from the nuclear-level heat of the sun--wow! That was intense!! The sun felt much closer than 93 million miles I can tell you that. Seems like more shade should have been considered--or more A/C escapes within the land.
But other than that, we really enjoyed it--especially at night with the cool Christmas bulb lights, etc.
Cheers, over and out!
