We just returned Oct. 5 and I wanted to share the wonderful experience we had at 1900 Park Fare and Cape May Cafe.

We had eaten at 1900 last year and really enjoyed it and it was just as great this time. We ate on Oct. 4 around 6 pm. My ADR was actually for 6:50 but my children got hungry early that day so some very helpful CMs at Magic Kingdom and Grand Floridian helped us to change our ADR to an earlier time.

The food was plentiful and fresh and we sampled a little of most everything between the 5 of us. We were all able to find much that we liked (and that includes the picky 6 year old and tomato fearing 16 year old :) ) and really nothing that we disliked. The things that stood out were the tomato mozzarella salad (for dh), chilled strawberry soup, mojo turkey, curry chicken, stuffed pork loin, and some super delicious very yummy bananas foster :goodvibes !!

Character interaction was great too. The fairy Godmother was in the waiting area, and Cinderella, the Prince, Suzy and Perrla circulated in the room. Cinderella was especially sweet with both my children and those around us (even the hyper little boy-not mine-who kept messing with her hair). Last year we did see Belle in her yellow dress at this meal but she was not here this year. Our server was good also-she kept our drinks full and our table cleared. It was a great meal and enjoyed by the whole family.

Our other meal was breakfast at Cape May Cafe and it was wonderful too. There was lots of fresh fruit, the kids enjoyed the Mickey waffles, the omlet eggs were good (a bit too much onion for me but dh loved them), plenty of fresh pastries and usual breakfast fare. Our server was great here too-kept our juice refilled and dishes out of the way.

But the character interaction was out of this world. Goofy was a hoot! He spent so much time with my kids playing around and they loved it. Chip and Dale tried to feed my 2 year old and Minnie even had the 16 year old posing for pictures. It was a great meal, not very crowded, and lots of fun. I would definitely go back and recommend it.

Excellent reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

These are my 2 favorite places to eat on WDW property. Both breakfast and dinner are great at 1900 Park Fare and the breakfast at Cape May we loved. I am glad you enjoyed them too!!

We were there the night before you., it was fun!

Nice to hear that you enjoyed Cape May's character breakfast - we'll be trying it for the first time later this month.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! We are eating breakfast at Cape Mays for the first time next month. My 1 yr old loves "Gooey" Goofy!!!

Thanks so much for the review of 1900 Park Fare. We are eating there for the first time in early January. My daughter is Cinderella obsessed, so I am glad to hear that she willl spend a little time with her!

I too loved the Cape May, but hey- let's not forget Beaches and Cream. The food was only a bit above average, but the desserts were phenomenal. Birnbaum's 2006 guide reported that Beaches and Cream had closed. This is completely false. No characters but the servers were personable and one look at your dessert and you lose all traces of sadness. Try the Frozen Sunshine or split a Kitchen Sink. My favorite- get a souvenier mug at the BC Marketplace, order a single scoop of ice cream at the take-out, mix the two, and voila!- a soda float. Since this is such a popular resteraunt, make resevations because the crowds can get horrendous. :crowded: Also... beware of a brainfreeze! :headache:

Glad to hear about Cape May - we're staying at the BC and my cousin is goofy about goofy (go figure!).

Thanks for the reviews. :wizard:

Can you tell me if there were pancakes or french toast on the buffet? We were very disappointed this summer because dd didn't care for the hard Mickey waffles they had and there was nothing else but egg related items, pastries, cereal and fruit. We used to love this breakfast but the variety had left a lot to be desired unless we just happened to be there when they ran out of these other items that day??

Hmm. CMC had blintz, donuts, Mickey waffles, parfaits, bacon, cottage cheese...

Sorry. Actually, to my recollection there were no pancakes or toast of any sort. Surprised me. But at the Cape May the mickey waffles are cooked well. And anything is softer if you smother it with syrup. :)

i'm not sure if you are aloud to eat at 1900 park fare, but if you call disney im sure they will answer your questions, you should def. make reservations and i have never eaten at cape may but ate at 1900 park fare and really enjoyed the dinner(its buffet style)
