Just back from a quick 4 day trip for our 10 year anniversary (just DH and I - left kids at home this time!) While we missed the kids terribly, it was wonderful to sit down to some nice dinners and not feel rushed and really enjoy the food! We had cereal in our room every morning and lunches were just quick pick ups along the way wherever we were.
Boma - we were seated about 30 minutes past our PS which gave us time to wander the resort which is really lovely, but the waiting area for Boma and Jiko got really crowded - maybe they should have spaced out the restaurants a little more! My husband sampled a lot of the buffet and enjoyed a lot of the food, but it really wasn't to my liking. I found enough to eat, but really didn't find it tasty...but that's just my plain tastebuds!
Wolfgang Puck - I had the Fettucine with bacon and peas in a tomato sauce and it was fantastic! DH had the Mushroom pizza which he enjoyed, but think he liked my pasta better. Our waiter seemed to really rush us out and put the bill down on our table before we had even finished our entrees! DH had a huge Rocky ROad icecream cone at Ghiridelli's after dinner to finish off
Beaches & Cream - we used a Q&C Voucher here and waitress was very familiar with it and recommended all the "big ticket" items. We had the double cheese burger which we split, half fries, half onion rings, large lemonade and a 3 scoop chocolate sundae. DH also ordered a coke, but she never even charged us for it. She came over to us after she gave us the sundae and said everything was taken care of and we could just leave when we were done and I reminded her of the extra coke and she said, "Don't worry about that Hon!" Very nice of her. Everything was great and sharing the dinner was more than enough! Great Q&C value.
California Grill - what a wonderful way to end our trip! When we arrived, everyone wished us a Happy Anniversary. We were seated closer to the back of restaurant near the balcony door area right by a window. We split the Hearts of Romaine salad - excellent and DH had the Pork and I had the chicken - both amazing. We had just finished when fireworks were to begin and we sat at our table and enjoyed the show - it really is a superb firework presentation. Too bad the music in restaurant either wasn't turned on in our area, or isn't available that far back - we could hear it vaguely from the main area of restaurant, but not in our section. However it didn't deter from a truly magical evening and even my DH, who doesn't get sentimental commented on how "neat" the evening was! Any questions, feel free to ask! Jo
